Urthbox included a card that specified the month and type of box I received but did not provide a list of the items included in the box.
LesserEvil Super 4 in Kale and Roasted Garlic (1.5 oz.)- value $1.05
I was expecting these to be similar to veggie straws, but they were much crunchier. I loved the crispy texture, and I also thought the flavor was great. At first, I thought the kale and garlic flavor was a little odd, but it quickly grew on me.
Fuel for Fire Fruit + Protein Fuel Pack (4.5 oz.)- value $3
This fuel pack is a mix of pureed fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and pear) and whey protein. Each pack has 10 grams of protein, is gluten-free, and is paleo-friendly.
The Yes Bar in Mocha Cayenne (1.4 oz.)- value $3
Terranut Pnut Punch (.6 oz)- value $.80
Yes Bars are gluten free, non-GMO, and “make it fun to be healthy.” I love spicy chocolate, so I was excited to give this a try. It was spicy, salty, sweet, and chocolaty, but all of the flavors melded together really well. I can be pretty picky when it comes to nutritional bars, but I thought this one was excellent.
The Terranut Pnut Punch is another little snack that’s packed full of protein. It’s very small but provides 4 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber. Also, it’s made with only three ingredients: cold-pressed peanuts, gluten free oats, and raw organic sugarcane. Unwrapped, it wasn’t much to look at, but I thought it was really good- kind of like dry, crumbly peanut butter.
Nourish Snacks Mr. Popular (1.2 oz.)- value $2
These half-popped corn kernels were delicious! They were salty and had an addictive, crispy crunch. They might become my new favorite movie theatre snack.
This month’s Urthbox also included a coupon for Nourish Snacks, a gift card for Urban Remedy, and a Terranut business card.
Verdict: This was my second Urthbox, and I enjoyed the majority of the snacks that were included. This month, Urthbox included quite a few “fitness” snacks that were high in protein. While this isn’t usually my favorite type of snack, I thought they did a great job at choosing products that were healthy but tasted great, too. One thing I want to point out about Urthbox is that there is a huge gap in pricing between a monthly subscription and a 6-month subscription. For the mini box I received, the prices are $19 per month and $9 per month, respectively. The value of this box comes in at about $10, which is a pretty good value only if you’re willing to commit to a 6-month subscription.
Have you tried Urthbox? What did you think?
