Style Quarterly March 2015 - Box

Style Quarterly is a limited edition, themed collection of fashion and beauty surprises from independent, small businesses. You won’t see makeup in this box, but you will see a mix of fashion accessories, bath + body items, skincare, hair care, and/or nail products in every box.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Style Quarterly March 2015 - box 2

This sticker was part of their packaging – I thought it was cute!

Style Quarterly March 2015 - info

The box also includes a sheet describing the theme and listing each item included. This month’s curation revolved around “Road Trippin’” and features items for trips and traveling!

Style Quarterly March 2015 - items 1

Puur Body Lemon Vanilla Body + Hair Mist – 2 oz, value: $3.20

One Love Organics Easy Does It Foaming Cleanser – 2.25 oz, value: $7.40

This body spray smells amazing! It’s very light, subtle, and fresh! I can see myself using this as a body or even a room spray – I wish I had a candle that smells like this.

I’m excited to try this organic cleanser. It’s made with a combination of organic Chilean soap bark, cold-pressed apple oil and vegetable glycerin, and is non-drying (which is great for my dry skin!).

Style Quarterly March 2015 - items 2

Style Quarterly Aviator Sunglasses + Case – value: $30?

These glasses are so cute, and I love the case! I don’t usually think I can pull off aviators but these are shaped in a way that they just might work for me! I do have to say, though, that these are very large. Fortunately, I’m usually okay with that, but it’s something to note that not everybody may like.

The info sheet lists these as from Style Quarterly, but they do have a tag that says “fashion eyewear,” which I can’t find anything but designer, prescription sunglasses when I Google. I really don’t know where to price these, but considering they’re not designer, I just had to guess a little.

Style Quarterly March 2015 - items 3

Rifle Paper Co. Bon Voyage Travel Journal – value: $15

Baggu Standard Bag – value: $9

It seems like Rifle Paper Co. is everywhere in subscription boxes this month! And you’ll hear no complaining from me – I love their products and style. What a great idea to include a travel journal for a box themed around travel! I’m excited to use it – I try to jot short notes in Evernote when we go on big trips, but this will be so much more fun/stylish!

I couldn’t find this specific pattern on Baggu’s site, so I found a similar one (all the standard bags are priced the same). Baggu is another brand I love, so being able to add this baggu to my collection is a win for me!

Here’s a look at the inside of the travel journal – each page has a space to write the location and the date, and of course a place to write your notes/thoughts!

Style Quarterly March 2015 - items 5

One Love Organics Cleansing Konjac Sponge – value: $10

Box Naturals Personal Towelettes in Lavender – value: $8.99

I’ve tried konjac sponges before – you let them soak and they get really slippery and squishy. I like them alright, and they’re really gentle to your skin while still helping to cleanse better than just your hands.

Style Quarterly March 2015 - items 6

David and Young Elephant Paisley Square Scarf – value: $16

How pretty is this scarf? I love the elephants and the paisley and the flower in the middle. It’s super lightweight and sheer, so it’ll be perfect for spring!

Style Quarterly March 2015 - items 7

Karmas Canvas Reversible Good Luck Coin Pendant Bracelet – value: $27.72

This is a cute little bracelet – definitely a fun, whimsical item. This isn’t personally my style, so it’ll be swapped or gifted!

Verdict: This was a great Style Quarterly box! I loved how the box was really full, and the theme was cute and curated well. All the items are useful and fun, too. As far as value goes, everything adds up to ~$127.31! For a $39 box, I’m definitely happy with that value!

What do you think about Style Quarterly?

Has anyone heard anything about the September box that some subscribers were supposed to get? I emailed 5 days ago and haven’t heard back.

I just got my last box. What a mess. I won’t give away any spoilers but I cannot see how anyone would like this box or feel they got their money worth and that’s assuming things aren’t broken

Soooo disappointed! I would never have bought any of this stuff on my own. Seems like no thought was put into curating this box. The necklace is so incredibly gaudy and cheap looking. Her other boxes were awesome, what the heck happened with this one?! 🙁

What a bust. Looked like dollar store stuff. They should be ashamed of themselves.

This company has TERRIBLE customer service. I am trying to get information from them about subscriptions, have contacted them via email and Facebook and have received no response after multiple attempts.

They are closing/closed. Their last box is being sent now and annual (pre-paid) subscribers will get a box in September but other than that they are closing shop.

It’s fun to see what you got. This seems like a really cool one.

Oh! You mentioned the inside of the travel journal but forgot the picture 😉

I’m confused on the price–is it $39 or $49? I checked the site a moment ago and it shows $49 including shipping. Is $39 the price without shipping or after a different (not listed) coupon code? I want to be sure that if I do sub it will be at the lowest price possible. A difference of $10 actually is fairly significant, at least it is to me in terms of value expectations.

EC – The price is $49.90/month. Last quarter’s box cost $39/month. We’re getting the post updated – sorry for the confusion!

The price of this box is $49.90, I’m not sure where the $39 comes from

CJ

The price without any discount code is $49.90 (pricing includes shipping). The $39 price Haley lists above must have been earlier pricing or with a discount. If you use the “MYSUBADDICT” discount code she listed above, you will save a few bucks per box, bringing the cost to $44.90 each box for as long as you’re a member.

Nice box… though perhaps not for $50…

I immediately wanted the elephant scarf for a friend… I followed the link (thanks!) and bought it for $16, free shipping, and excellent excellent customer care– many emails immediately acknowledging my account, my order, and – within an hour – my shipment with tracking. Just wanted to put that out there for anyone else interested in the scarf!

Thanks for the info, all they have left is black and pink versions. I LOVE this blue version, rats!

Laurie

I ordered the pink scarf last night and it’s already shipped!

I love the sunglasses and the scarf is so pretty. I was very tempted to subscribe after seeing this month’s box because the curation is great, but after looking back at past boxes I can’t justify the $50. I like a few of the items in past boxes, but overall the value isn’t there for me.

Where did you find past boxes? I could be wrong but I thought that this Spring one was only the second from Style Quarterly– before that they were known as Pash Box and basically sent scarves.

Agona

It was their third box. I’ve been subscribed since the beginning. The fall box had two scarves, a body butter, a shower gel…a few other things. I can’t remember. The second one had cozy slipper socks, hot chocolate on a stick, a mug, and a scarf. My favorite was the winter box followed by the fall box. They always include a scarf and seem seasonally appropriate.

Raquel

I am not a subber to this box but I am loving that journal, scarf, glasses case and the baggu. I will be searching the swap site for those items soon. Rifle is definitely everywhere in the sub boxes and that is quite fine with me!

I really do like this type of box with lots of items– I was sorry to have missed their first one from Dec. ’14. It reminds me of the Nov. Little Lace Box (which I also missed!) When I signed up for this in Dec. it was at $49.90 (with a semi-annual purchase there was a discount), so it has been at the higher price for at least 3 months.

I was underwhelmed by this box. I hated the scent of the spray (smelled like cookies to me–which is fine, I just don’t like it as a fragrance) so I actually threw that away. I’m gifting most of the box as a Mother’s Day gift. Their previous winter and fall box was so much better for me. If the summer box isn’t a great fit for me, I’ll cancel and someone else can have my spot. I can’t spend almost $50 on something that I only like 50% of the time.

I WANT this box but it’s sold out. Arg! I’m trying to find more reviews (of other months), before considering subbing

The price has always been $49.90.. This was a great box, much more than the promised 3-6 items and I used everything on a trip that I took last weekend. That foaming cleaners is $9 though http://shop.oneloveorganics.com/products/discover-easy-does-it

CJ

hmm… If I’m not impressed with the Rachel Zoe box, I’ll try this one next. For anyone else interested, the price has gone up to $49.90 according to their website.
