Each box comes with an envelope that contains coupons for many of the month’s featured brands. There’s usually a coupon for at least one completely free product, which adds to the value of the box. This month, there’s a coupon for a free Ready to Serve Minute Rice product.
Skinny Pop Popcorn (.65 oz)- value $1.17
I’ve had this brand of popcorn before, and I really like it. In addition to being gluten free, this popcorn is non-GMO, and, conveniently, each pack contains 100 calories.
Quinoa Choco-Chip Cookies by Goodie Girl (1 oz)- value $.83
These cookies were excellent! I wasn’t sure what to expect from a cookie made with quinoa, but I honestly couldn’t tell the difference. My one dislike was that there were only four small cookies in the pack!
Coco Joe Pumpkin Seeds by Superseedz (1 oz)- value $.99
This was a great discovery for me. I love pumpkin seeds, and these are fantastic. They’re made with cocoa, vanilla, and salt and are crispy and delicious. Superseedz makes a wide variety of flavors, so I may be ordering more from them soon.
AllergEase Lozenges (21 lozenges)- value $5.99
I love that Send Me Gluten Free included a natural remedy for allergies, and I think this is a perfect item for a spring box! The flowering trees in my city are in bloom right now, which makes this a difficult month for allergy sufferers. I’m lucky not to suffer from allergies, but my brother’s allergies are severe. I’ll pass these lozenges along to him in the hope that they can help supplement his pharmaceutical regimen. I’m sure he’ll be excited to try them, and they seem to work for a lot of people (they get great reviews on Amazon).
Level Double Chocolatey Chip Protein Bar (40 g.)- value $1.50
This bar features crunchy bites of chocolate pieces and is covered in a thick chocolate coating- definitely a great protein bar option for chocoholics! Level specializes in weight loss products for diabetics, but their bars can be used by anyone.
Sunbutter Creamy Squeeze Packs (2- 1.1 oz packs)- $1.40
Sunbutter is made from sunflower seeds and is peanut and gluten free. I like sunflower seed butter, and I think it’s a great replacement for peanut butter on sandwiches.
Alter Eco Mini Dark Noir Bar (60%) (.7 oz)- value $1.69
I love dark chocolate, and this bar was excellent. It was beautifully dark and creamy, without the slightest hint of bitterness. It’s organic, fair trade, gluten free, and certified non-GMO. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this brand in the future.
Wholly Gochujang (5.4 oz)- value about $5
Wholly Gochujang is a gluten free hot pepper paste used in Korean cooking. It can be used in bibimbap, dipping sauce, marinade, soup, and stir-fry. Send Me Gluten Free included a couple of printouts with this product:
Included is a coupon code for CrazyKoreanShopping.com, where you can buy more Wholly Jang products. They’ve also included a couple of recipes that utilize Wholly Gochujang, Chogochujang (spicy dipping sauce) and Spicy Korean BBQ.
Verdict: I really like the variety of products included in this month’s Send Me Gluten Free. All of the food items I sampled were delicious, and I like that they included allergy lozenges and Korean hot pepper paste. Unfortunately, the value of this box only comes to a little over $20 (including the value of the coupon for the free minute rice, but not the value of the other coupons), which isn’t great if you’re looking to sign up for a month-to-month subscription. However, if you sign up for an annual subscription with the GETHOOKED coupon code it brings the cost down to just $15 a box!
