Scentbird is a perfume sampling subscription box that sends you 100% authentic perfumes every month. When you sign up, you take a preferences quiz to help them suggest recommendations for you to try, and you can also go browse and rate the rest of their selection to make the recommendations even more accurate. You can build a queue of fragrances you’d like to try or you can let yourself be surprised every month.
Because this subscription is so heavily personalized, the fragrance I selected to review this month is only one of a large number other subscribers may have received.

Along with the fragrance you receive each month, Scentbird also includes a card describing the “perfume of the month” for the next month. May’s perfume of the month is Something Blue by Oscar de la Renta, in honor of wedding season. I think this is a great pick, especially because my wedding anniversary is in May!
With your first month’s delivery, you receive a perfume case that fits your 8 ml sprays inside – this card details how to use it!
This is the purse spray case you get with your first month, with the sample vial inside. You can see it closed (top) and open (bottom). I have to say that this is what makes this subscription for me. The case is has a nice weight, is sleek, and feels high quality. It’s easy to open and close, and to switch perfumes you just open the case, pull the vial out, and place the next one inside!
The fragrance I received this month is Pink Graffiti by Escada. (I actually opted to try the April perfume of the month, Clique by Roble, but apparently I’m having some issues with my queue saving my changes to the order of my fragrances. I’ve reached out to Scentbird about the issue.) Pink Graffiti is categorized by Scentbird as “flirty, party, and fruity.” It has notes of raspberry, strawberry, grapefruit, soft florals, cashmere wood, and vanilla.
I like this fragrance alright. I chose it because one of my absolute favorite scents ever is Born in Paradise by the same brand (seriously, you’re instantly transported to a beach when you spray it – perfect for Summer!), and I also like many other Escada perfumes. This Pink Graffiti scent is very light and fresh. I definitely smell the fruitiness right away, and then I’m left with the vanilla and floral notes throughout the rest of the day (at least that’s how it wears on my skin). Overall, I like this scent but it smells a little like something I’d expect from a soap or deodorant. Very fresh, but not too sweet.
A 3.3 fl oz (97.5 ml) bottle of this fragrance sells for $58, so this .27 oz/8 ml spray is worth about $4.75. The sample size Scentbird sends is enough for a month of use, with two applications a day.
This month, Scentbird also included a special offer for Tasting Room, which is a customizable wine subscription service.
The Verdict: Scentbird is probably my favorite fragrance subscription. Generally, I find that the value is better than this month’s was, but that’s due to the fact that I selected a less expensive brand to try out. However, I still see a good value because I can’t find roller ball sizes of this perfume for sale, just a full-size bottle – if there’s no other way to get this small of a bottle, it’s definitely great to be able to get it via Scentbird.
I also love that their selection is so large and has lots of variety. You can find a lot of department store/popular brands to try. I’ve found they don’t typically carry perfumes that have been very newly released, but you can always email them requests to add them. They keep a list of perfumes they plan on adding, and requests for specific fragrances bump them up in priority.
If you’re interested in trying out Scentbird, they offer some of my favorite fragrances to try: Prada Candy, Lancome La Vie Est Belle, and Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy are just some of my recommendations!
