Pooch Party Packs is a subscription box for dogs that sends 4-6 treats, toys, and/or grooming supplies a month. They typically include at least one item from a small business in each box.
Pooch Party Packs will customize the box for your dog’s size (small: 10-20 pounds, medium: 20-50 pounds, and large: 50+ pounds). This box is for large dogs. (For what it’s worth, my dog weighs about 90 pounds and the toys we received were an appropriate size for her.)
Pooch Party Packs sent us this box for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Superior Farms Pet Provisions Venison Nik Nak – Value $3.99
Doghouse Biscuits Little Bitty Cheese Bones – Value $7 (?)
This venison Nik Nak is a dried venison ear. It’s made in the US, too. Right now my dog is on a restricted diet for a medical issue so we will be saving this for a little bit. I know she will love this when her restricted diet is over (and venison is generally considered hypoallergenic and/or a “novel protein” in pet foods, which is great for us).
I’m not sure of the regular package size for these dog biscuits so this value is a guess based on their online shop. These are made in Montana by a small company and are free of refined sweeteners, artificial food colorings, and preservatives!
JW Pet Company Darwin the Frog (large) – Value $7.79
We’ve had other JW Pet Company toys in the past and have found them to be pretty durable (my dog is a vigorous chewer). (Note: the MSRP is a little higher but I found these new on Amazon for $7.79.) My dog isn’t quite as enthusiastic about rubber toys as she is about plush toys, but rubber toys tend to last longer with her and she does like this. (It takes a dog with a pretty big mouth and strong jaw to make it squeak.)
KONG Aqua Knots Seal (medium/large) – Value $14.99
I couldn’t find this exact toy online (it seems to be a new release) but I found others from the same product line in the same size, so I’m using that value here. My dog loved this and it took her a whole hour to put a hole in it and start pulling stuffing out…It’s been added to the pile of toys that need “repair” for the time being (this is not so unusual for us and this toy lasted longer than most). The Aqua Knot plush toys have knotted rope inside as well as squeakers.
Nyx (my dog) is a bit under the weather at the moment and I think the Aqua Knot Seal brightened her day (although she did NOT want to sit still for a picture)!
Also, I e-mailed customer service with a question and got an answer back within a few hours, which is always good.
Verdict: I really like the selection of products in this box. I think the toys were an appropriate size and choice for a large-breed dog, and I like that the treats are made in the US. I also like the focus on small businesses and I think the toys did a good job of matching the theme (“A Day at Sea”) pretty well.
The total value I calculated ($33.77) is somewhat lower than the cost of the box (if you factor in shipping costs). If you take into account MSRP for the frog toy as opposed to the Amazon price, you add a couple of dollars to the value. Of course, if you sign up for a longer term subscription, you come out a little better. Looking at some reviews of other dog subscription boxes, this is not necessarily an unusual situation. However, I think I would like to see just a little bit higher value.
For my own dog, this box was a little better than the BarkBoxes I’ve gotten in the past – the toys were more durable and more appropriate for her size and I liked that the treats didn’t include a lot of common dog allergens like chicken, corn, etc.
