  1. I received tracking for my replacement spa box. Also, our boxes will be rebill on the same date we signed up. For example, I signed up on April 23rd and will be rebill on the 23rd of the month. The May boxes will ship the last week of May.

    First I want to give credit to Burke Decor for promptly responding to my email last week, emailing affected subscribers, and sending out new boxes. I have my replacement home decor box 1 week after emailing their company. I know it was a disappointing thing to go through. I was disappointed too. However, not many subs respond as quickly or do the correct thing. Thank You Burke Decor for responding quickly and doing the right thing.

    This time the inner box is larger and there was an item laying on top of the Burke Decor box. I do wish that in future boxes that an information card is included.

    1. Chilewich Black 72″ table runner. I’m guessing it might be this one. It will be useful in my house because I have boys. $50? Guessing because I think the link is correct, but not 100% sure.

    2. Ted Baker London Tweet, Tweet, Tweet Brogues lined notebook. This is really pretty. The first inside page has pictures of birds. The pages feel heavier than other notebooks. There is a ribbon to mark your spot. Apx. $20

    3. A full set of Thomas Paul Metamophosis coasters. Yes, I did receive all 4. Very pretty with a butterfly on it. I’ve been wanting coasters I can use. They are sturdy and should not break. This is always a concern in my house. $18

    4. John Robshaw Textile Home Embroidered Card Set. These are amazing. The card has an embroidery design on it and feels like cotton. $45

    5. Kobo Sakura Blossom Sakura Blossom cherry blossom, ylang-ylang, lilac pure soy candle. I think it is the same one as the link. It did not arrive in the box. This is a heavy candle in a glass container with a lid. I love the smell and have no other scent like this. $37

    6. Bonus??? – 3 greeting cards by Halle Cisco. Each card is wrapped separately. Apx $7.50

    • Oh this is MUCH better! They probably took a big $$ hit having to send everyone two boxes, so I really appreciate their efforts to make it right. Mine arrives tomorrow, I hope it’s as good!!

    • Anna- were these items from both of your boxes or just your replacement box? My first box had two glass tumblers, two tiny appetizer plates, and two gold forks. I’m dying to know what’s in the 2nd box, I should be getting it tomorrow. I figured they would have 1 home box for everyone, not variations, it’s going to be interesting to see the variations. Your box sounds great for the price, but not really my style. Except the notebook is cute and the candle I’m sure smells wonderful. The box I received is a little more in line with my style, looks like something from World Market or Pier One. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow!

      • Everything is from the replacement box. There was an apology note included. Part of it says, “Enclosed please find a new replacement box featuring a curated selection of accessories for your home. We hope you enjoy.”

        My original box had 2 engraved Rooster glasses, 2 cocktail napkins in gold, and 2 Vagabond black and white appetizer dishes.

        • Ok cool that sounds nice! That’s a really nice box then, hopefully next month it will all ship out in one box.

    • The supplemental box sounds nice. How were they intending to fit all of that plus the items in the original box all into that 1 small black box the first go round?! I can’t wait to get my box tomorrow!

      • Larger size box. It’s about one and a half times longer as the first box and the runner laid loose on top. It was rolled up.

        I measured the boxes. The original boxes are 8″ x8″ for both the home decor and spa box. The 2nd home decor box measures 12″ L x 9″ W. I never remember which number goes first. This is in reference to the inner black decor box, not the shipping box.

        • CJ- I read your comment incorrectly. You are right. There is no way it would had fit the first time around. Sorry.

          • No problem. It just seemed like a lot of stuff to mistakenly leave out of the first box. But I suppose they went out of their way to make sure the supplemental boxes were extra nice to apologize for the less than stellar original boxes. And measurements are usually written in the length x width x height order 🙂

    • I’m definitely not unhappy at all with what I they sent me but I do have a bit of box envy for your items! The notebook, coasters, and cards are so cute! I received :

  4. I’m going to post my box in a few minutes. I need to read my tracking email better. The tracking email that I received is for the Home Decor Box only. I confirmed with Burke Decor that the Spa replacement boxes will be going out in the next few days. They wanted to concentrate on the Home Decor boxes first. I can understand that because most of the comments on this post is about the Home Decor box. I also sent in an email to find out when is the next billing and shipping date.

    Spoilers in a few minutes and then pictures up on MUT for those that want to view them in a little bit. It’s been crazy here so I haven’t had time to research or take photos. The advantages and disadvantages of having a home office.

    • I am very curious about the updated box and can not tell from your comments if it is good or not so much. Any hint? We all appreciate your comments and I believe that you were originally contacted Burke Décor to help them get this sorted out.

          • This is one of the few times that I received my box first. Usually I am one of the last people to receive it unless it is ship USPS 2-day.

          • *Boxes in generally; not this box specifically. West Coast boxes take time to reach me unless it is 2-day priority.

          • Just saw the links and very nice items. Hope all of our boxes are similar. I am also on the West coast so normally am one of the last to get boxes too.

  5. Received shipping email. It looks like I’m getting one missing item for each box. I really hope they are nice products. Especially for the home box. I so wanted this subscription. I already cancelled but might reconsider.

  7. Just received shipping email. Am looking for to seeing what Burke Decor intended for the home box.

    • I finally just got my tracking info too, can’t wait to see what the rest of the box has. I hope that I’m wowed by it, it’s supposed to be $120 value. So here’s hoping it does!

  8. I rec’d my box today. I think along with everyone else I was a little disappointed. I did appreciate the email I rec’d from Burke explained the oops on their part. But I have yet to see a shipping notification for the supplemental items either. I rec’d the email 5 days ago and was told the box would be sent in 2-3 business days. Maybe they aren’t sending out shipping notifications? Either way I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt! if this happens multiple months then we know!

  10. Received my box today. 2 small glasses, a very small bowl (unglazed on outside) and 2 coasters. When I signed up for this subscription I thought it was going to be an actual curated subscription box. Even though I was told that my box was incomplete and another box to follow I feel that this was just a way of getting rid of overstock or clearance items. From what I have read of other subscriber boxes these are all random items and not a thought out box. I am really on the fence and will wait to see what follows in supplemental box. Haven’t received shipping notice yet. I would estimate my box value to be far less than what I paid for the subscription. Hard to give it a retail value as I feel that these items are clearance. I really hope this was not the original intent and that this is a good home décor subscription as that is what we were all looking for.

  11. Got home from vacation last night and my box was waiting for me. I wouldn’t say it’s terrible but I’m definitely happy more is coming since what I received comes nowhere near the $120 value we were promised. I got the following:

    The unglazed exterior of the little bowl is a bit grungy – hopefully porcelain is easy to clean. Can’t wait to see what else is coming! I haven’t seen any tracking info for the second box yet.

    • I LOVE those glasses!! I was actually thinking of buying some. (Except I’d rather have the large ones and they’re sold out.) And that bowl is the same one featured in PopSugar’s December box! I didn’t get that box, but I loved it so much I hunted one down in a swap. I was surprised by how small it was, but I still love it. 🙂

      This seems like a really good START of the described decor box. I really reeeeally hope that this sub works out its issues because I really like their products. I was incredibly close to subscribing, but decided to wait and see how it works out.

    • I think your box sounds nice too, I got one with 2 glass tumblers, two tiny appetizer plates and two forks. They’re a nice start but no where near worth $120. I like the glasses you got and the napkins.

  12. Just curious… has anyone received tracking info for their supplemental box? I wonder if they are going to wait and ship all of them out at the same time or ship them out in waves as they are completed.

    • I’very also been wondering. I sent a message asking for an update, but I haven’t heard back.

    • I haven’t yet, didn’t know if they were going to include tracking numbers or not on the 2nd box.

    • I received my tracking info for my supplemental box! Anxious to see if the supplemental box has some redeeming qualities.

We wanted to follow-up on everyone’s initial feedback and sincerely apologize for all the concerns noted below We hope to better explain how this happened, so that you know we are aware of the problem and have made changes to insure this never happens again, as well as make necessary corrections and remedy all concerns as quickly as possible.

    Our editorial team created a variety of carefully curated sample boxes for each Spa Box and variations of the Home Box for our packaging team to emulate when filling subscription orders. While we were still in a very soft launch phase (last week), we had a much larger response than anticipated. In the effort to process orders in a timely manner, we had a very new employee of ours to assist in packing. Unfortunately, the boxes packaged by this individual were shipped without final approval resulting in boxes going out that were not curated to our desired standard or composed of the intended value. This affected many subscriptions and we cannot apologize enough for the let down or imagine what a disappointment this must have been upon receiving your first box(s).

    Please note, we have been working to reach out to all individuals who have been impacted by this and let them know that we are re-sending new boxes gratis to all subscribers who received incomplete boxes. To be totally honest we are horrified that these boxes went out half packed, these boxes do not represent in any way our vision for this service. Replacement boxes are being sent within 1-3 business days.

      The Burke Decor boxes have the potential to excel in the sub world. There is a gap when it comes to home decor boxes and this can help fill that void. The brands that you offer in the Spa boxes along with offering different type of Spa boxes also differentiate you from other boxes. Combined that with the ability to chose the shipping frequency, and I can see the Burke Decor boxes being popular. Wishing you success.

  14. I will give them the benefit of the doubt to make up for this with their second shipment box, but as of right now I am completely disappointed with this subscription and feeling pretty stupid for jumping on a new subscription. I purchased the Home box and the Warm & Earthy box.

    My Home box included:
    *2 cloth place mats made by Simrin that are beige with a green leaf pattern (might be a gingko?) – could not find these on their website or anywhere online
    * 2 of a 4-piece appetizer dish set by Vagabond Vintage http://www.burkedecor.com/products/ser-of-four-handpainted-blue-and-white-ceramic-appetizer-dishes-by-vagabond-vintage the set of 4 is $23 on their site, so the 2 should be $11.50
    * a “buttering board” by Ferm Living – http://www.burkedecor.com/products/black-stripe-buttering-board-design-by-firm-living $20.75 on their site
    So 4 items for a total value of maybe about $50 overall. The items do not seem to be curated or even go together.

    Warm & Earthy Spa Box:
    * Lucia No. 3 Tea Leaf & Wild Honey Soap – this appears to be part of an 8-soap set of guest soaps: http://www.burkedecor.com/products/lucia-box-of-assorted-guest-soaps-8-lucia The set of 8 is $13.50, so 1 bar should be about $1.70
    * Simpatico Tea Solid Perfume – http://www.burkedecor.com/products/printed-solid-perfume-in-tea-design-by-simpatico $16
    * Simpatico Bar Soap in Ambergris – http://www.burkedecor.com/products/fine-bar-soap-in-ambergris-design-by-simpatico $11
    * Lucia No. 4 candle (about a votive size) – looks like this one BUT there was no box, just the candle http://www.burkedecor.com/collections/candles/products/lucia-mandarin-tomato-flower-soy-candle-lucia $22
    So again, 4 items worth about $50 (although it makes me rather sick to think of paying $22 for a votive candle!) with not much apparent curation.

    I don’t understand why they would break apart sets of items they sell in their store to ship in these boxes. I suppose that’s why there wasn’t anything listing the items shipped. I’m hoping the second shipment will make up for this feeling of regret, but it would have to be pretty incredible to do that. Further, I have tried to cancel my subscriptions multiple times through their website, but the “manage subscription” link only leads to an error page. I tried clicking on “contact us” but that only opened a new tab in my Chrome browser….. Finally I resorted to leaving a message in their online chat option.

  15. My Home Decor box had the two floral placemats, a 4×4 picture frame and a tiny seashell dish in which I have no idea what to do with. The spa box also had the tiny little hotel soaps. I’m very upset. Such a crock, I’m not waiting to see whats in my “missing item” box (which is crap). No one makes that kind of mistake with every customer. I’m cancelling my boxes now.

    • I went to the website to cancel and went to manage subscriptions but all I get is an error that page can not be found. I then wanted to remove at least my credit card information and I can not even find where to do that. Anyone else having that problem?

      • Well THAT doesn’t bode well. O.o

  16. I had high hopes for this sub and especially at such a high price point. Reading through everyone’s products makes me feel like they wanted to get rid of a bunch of clearance items and what everyone got was what it was supposed to be. Why else did they send an email after people started to complain about it? I guess they realized how everyone noticed the low value. So they send an email that a “handful” got missing items but from the looks of it, everyone has missing items. I mean how does a sub forget everyone’s items? I hope I’m wrong and I’m totally not trying to sound negative but that’s what it looks like to me. I hope the second shipment changes everyone’s mind. It is good that they aren’t ignoring the issue and are trying to fix it but I hope they didn’t try to pull a fast one over us.

  17. At first I thought that it was the Home Decor boxes that had “missing” items. My box was the “Floral and Fruit” one and I got the same email today, so it certainly does seem to be more than a “handful” of subscribers. The Spa Boxes are supposed to have 3-4 items and I posted my four here yesterday. Two of the four were little hotel flat type soaps– I looked on their site and they sell a set of eight of those soaps for $13ish. Waiting to see what the “extra” items are– there was so much excitement for this sub and now it has begun with so many disappointments… I feel bad for those that received the Home Decor Box–that had the potential to be great…

  18. I also received email that my second box will be on its way as I was missing some items. Email said a “handful” of subscribers were missing items but based here it sounds like something a little more. I am so glad that PA Anna posted with reason to wait and see or I am afraid that I would have been very disappointed. I hope that this is just growing pains and not that they were trying to get rid of items so offered subscription boxes with not enough items to send based on the response and hoped no one would say anything. I hate to sound negative but I am concerned as you always expect the 1st box to be wonderful and then it can go downhill from there. But to have this many issues at the beginning is rather discouraging and sad. Obviously their response was great but maybe they need to up their quality control.

  19. I also received an email informing me that additional items are on their way. Part of me says hmm…but the other (sub box) part of me says “YAY! TWO boxes!” 🙂

  20. My Home Box arrived today and it’s very disappointing to say the least. I’m not even sure what you do with 2 out of 3 of the items other than use as coasters. And my other (main) item was a set of 2 floral placemats (I assume they’re placemats). My box is certainly not anything like what they showed in the stock photo….more like 3 of the smallest clearance items they had. It’s a shame because they have such nice items on their website. I’m definitely canceling 🙁

    • My box came today. I feel so ripped off and scammed. The home box had a coaster. ???? and a ugly green cloth napkin. One of each???? These are the 2 items I got for the 130 value. I have no idea what to do at this point. How can these people do this ? They know what they are sending. I am sooooo disapointed

      • Did you get an email from them to say that there’s a second box on its way to you like some of the other subscribers?

      • Wow. Yours is even worse than mine. I certainly hope that’s not the supplement box either. That’s totally unacceptable either way. You should contact them.

        • This is the exact same reason why I’m very reluctant to get new boxes. Zoe Box I knew would be fine, so I was not concerned about that one. I’m glad I skipped travel noire and fantom both first time boxes were not as expected. Forgetting to put items in a box is not a good start to a box. If anything the first boxes should be over expectation not under. – Hope this box gets better.

    • Hm I got my home box today and it’s different than yours. I got two glass tumblers valued at $9.50/each, two little square “plates” they’re only 4×4 in valued at $14, and two gold colored forks. No way were the forks worth $20. I wonder if your box is what my box was missing and mine was what your box was missing. Or they have different versions of the home box going.

      • Haha now I see on the site that the home box has a $120 value, so far my box has totaled under $50. I was concerned when I opened the box inside the box and it was small. But I’d be so mad if I got placemats or coasters or a cloth napkin. Thankfully mine wasn’t great but not that terrible either, but it’s not the $120 value they advertise.

      • I just saw your items on MUT- they are very nice and at least look like the start of a curated home box for $55 ! Your items are very nice, look well made and flow together. If they send you another box to make up the value, it could turn out nicely and at least worth what you paid!
        My items just look like they were randomly picked off the leftover clearance shelf…2 eco/floral placemats ($5-7 each?), 1 black & white geometric printed cardboard coaster/trivet (worth maybe $2-4) and 1 coaster/tiny plate (?) that says on the back sticker ‘set of 4’. So they sent me 1 leftover coaster (or tiny plate) out of a set of 4! I read on MUT someone else got 1 coaster out of a set of 4 too that she looked up and it retailed for $10…so it’s probably the same item and worth $2.50.
        They’d have to send a heck of a supplement box to be worth what I paid, let alone the value they promised. I think they just sent ‘odds & ends’ they were getting rid of. It’s just plain insulting to send out leftover pieces from a set.

        • Thanks! I agree with her on MUT, I like the items, but not totally happy and it’s not worth the $55 I spent. The “plates” are from a set of 4 for $29. I could’ve walked into World Market or Pier 1 and gotten more stuff for $55. But I’d be downright furious with your box or the other one with the 1 cloth napkin. I’m really curious to see how many variations there are. Plus if/when we get the other items and the box still doesn’t have the advertised $120 value we should all raise hell.

      • Don’t forget that some boxes shipped incomplete. Did you receive the email? That’s why I didn’t post my items yet. I think the box will make sense once everything arrives. This is also true about my Spa box. They confirmed that there were items left out that are now being sent. I’ll post my full boxes – Home Decor and Spa – once everything arrives.

        • They didn’t send me a letter. I don’t care if I didn’t like the items its the value that bothers me and the lack of a card to tell me what these strange things are. They said $ 130 value I believe and what I got is a 20 dollar value and that is really stretching it . What does a person do with one napkin? or one coaster? This must be stuff they have laying around that were part of sets. At least send the value of what we paid for the box. They have such cute stuff on their site too.. So disappointed.

          • I agree. I tried searching the store online but I couldn’t find the items in my box anywhere. But none of the items look worth anywhere near $55, let alone the $130 value they promised (even taking in to consideration the missing items they “forgot” to include). I got 2 glass tumblers/candle votives (not sure which) that look like they are for Christmas because of the holly berry designs. I got 2 green embroidered squares about the size of pot holders but way to thin for that. I suppose they are cloth coasters. I also got a very small bowl that I guess is for holding loose change/jewelry because it says its not for food on the bottom (beneath the partially ripped off discount sticker). The supplemental box better be amazing if they want to keep me as a subscriber because I am extremely disappointed with the items I received so far. If they want to send out these types of misfit clearance items, they need to reduce the cost of the box significantly!

          • Wow CJ, I got the exact same items you received! I don’t think it’s as horrible as others but the value is definitely not there. I look forward to see what will be in the box coming next week, crossing my fingers.

      • See it as receiving package #1 and package #2 a few days apart 🙂 It’s good that they are being proactive in resolving this issue.

        • I suppose so, but why not have the first box together enough to send all at once? As long as it’s not like the Sesame Gifts Mystery Boxes from last month, I’ll be ok. I lost my mind when I opened those boxes, never been so mad lol. That was straight out $40 thrown into the wind.

    • Received the same email. Sounds like more than a “handful” or subscribers. I should be receiving my 1st box Monday so glad I saw this or I would have been really disappointed. Sounds like Burke Décor was going to use boxes to get rid of random clearance items and due to the response of subscribers did not have enough items. Rather disappointing and sad as a 1st box should always be well thought out and fabulous and based on comments this feels like more than working out the kinks. Will be anxious to see what comes in the second box.

    • I just got mine today, and I don’t hate it but don’t think it was worth $55 either. I can’t wait to see what else they’re sending, because right now it’s only 6 items.

My “Floral and Fruit” Box came today– for $51 I’m a bit underwhelmed… There are 4 items, 2 of which are little hotel-sized Lucia soap bar(lettes), ther is a NEST Orange Blossom Liquid Soap (10 oz) with an oversized bar code sticker slapped across the bottom that says $22, and the fourth item is a small Lucia Soy Candle.

    • Yes, I think that’s the risk of trying this one out. This is their first time doing a box, so they may not yet understand the premium that we all put on the value of the box. I wonder if the items will be somewhat random, as well. Still looking forward to what the home one may have in it!

        • Oh no…! I know you ordered both home and the cool and fresh..are the issues with both boxes? :/ I should be more careful ordering expensive boxes!!!

      • Mine gets delivered tomorrow…I’m really excited! Not sure how many of us made the jump on this one. It seems like we all bought the home decor one.

        Also, worth noting that my customer service interactions so far have been great!

          • I received an email back from the company. It appears I might not have received everything in the box so there are sending out the rest. It’s their first month so things do happen. I rather wait on posting the contents of my home box until it all comes together. I think that is fair and right for the company.

            They are responsive which is a good sign. I am sure that someone will have a complete home decor box tomorrow and be thinking why was PA Anna at a lost for words?

            I didn’t cancel because I wanted to see their response. I’m still am subscribe for next month’s box and will be until I can make an informed decision. I hope all goes well!

  26. I used their live chat feature to ask about shipping dates. I was told they should ship out sometime next week and tracking will be sent.

    I also asked if this was considered the April or May box and when I could expect my next charge (I am on the monthly sub).

    The concierge did not know, so they asked for my contact info and said they would reach out when they got an answer. I guess this is the first customer service test I will have with them. I will let everyone know what I find out!

    • Yw PA Anna! So since shipping times have been addressed already I will answer the question about charge dates.

      From my email. ” Your card will be charged each month on the day that the first box was purchased….and then the box would ship at the end of the month”

      So I would say we paid for the May box, even though some may receive it before the end of April this time around. I would expect shipping to be closer to the end of the month going forward so the next box would actually arrive in June ( or July for those on bi-monthly) .

  29. I decided to take a risk on the home décor box. I like a lot of the home décor items in their shop so hopefully the items in the box will be nice. The promised value will be more than twice the cost of the box so this should be a nice box! I do like the flexibility of the subscriptions.

  33. They seem to have revised their website to read 10% instead of the 15% it said a bit ago. Oh well. It’s actually cheaper not to use the discount code–$55 + free shipping if you don’t use it vs. $49.50 + $6 shipping if you do!

  36. I’d be very interested to see what type of things are in the Home box. There really aren’t many boxes dedicated to the home out there.
    Although, unless it’s overwhelmingly Anthropologie-like I probably won’t subscribe. I’m extremely particular about my home decor as I have quite definite colour schemes and styles for each room, so an object has to be just right to fit in.
    I did buy some fabulous crocodile wallpaper at Burke Decor, so perhaps they’ll surprise us.
