  1. Below is my letter from Fancy detailing what’s included in the large $500 box. Three of the items I loved (clutch, bracelet, stationary). Overall, box was definitely a disappointed. Packaging and presentation were non-existent, as well as value. I feel so foolish for spending my money on this box. This was my first Fancy box. It will be my last.

Can you keep a secret from mom? We wanted to give you a heads up/sneak preview of all the wonderful things included in her Fancy Mother’s Day Box.

    Large Box

    Rima Bracelet by Dannijo

Mom can wear these bracelets piled on for an effortless bohemian look, or worn as a single strand with her other favorite bangles, friendship bracelets or cuffs.

    Sovanna Earring by Senhoa

Golden Shade Swarovski crystals, evoking the rich essence of luminous sunlight hitting the stirring streets of Siem Reap. Sovanna is a homage to the promises of the coming dawn.

The Big Book of Chic – Assouline Books

An internationally acclaimed interior design sensation, author Miles Redd is known for his quirky brand of cozy glamour. This lavishly illustrated volume features a diverse selection of his unique interiors, an inspiration to anyone interested in spirited, eclectic design.

    Loess Wrap Clutch

For the extremely stylish mom. Cut and crafted from a single piece of premium 5/6 oz vegetable tanned leather to create a minimal and versatile carry accessory.

    Apothecary Noir Diffuser // AquaSugar

The latest craze in home fragrance! Midnight black apothecary glass filled with AquaSugar scented oil. Natural Reeds gently diffuse the scent into the air for months. (Tip: Once the liquid is poured in the apothecary vessel and given a chance to soak up in the reed sticks, the scent will “soften” up – making it smell even better.)

Hello Darling Stationery by RIFLE PAPER Co.

Twelve notes and envelopes packaged in a matching box that’s pretty enough for mom to leave out on her desk.

    Happy Mother’s Day!
    Team Fancy

    • By the way, it’s a single bracelet – not sure while the description refers to bracelets.

    • Here are the values I’ve found. Without knowing the value for the diffuser, it adds up to $472. Not good :(! I do love the clutch, though.

      Rima Bracelet by Dannijo $130

      Sovanna Earring by Senhoa $85

The Big Book of Chic – Assouline Books $75

      Loess Wrap Clutch $160

      Apothecary Noir Diffuser // AquaSugar

Hello Darling Stationery by RIFLE PAPER Co. $22

If anyone has a value for the Diffuser, I’d love to know!

      • Oh no! Did they include a return slip? They used to include one in the subs. All my paperwork is in the recycle bin so I don’t know if the Mother Day Box is returnable.

I cut and paste the diffuser into the Fancy search box and it gave back a value of $148.00. I don’t know if that is the same one that you have.

        • Thanks for the information on the diffuser. I can’t imagine that what I received could in any way conceivably be worth $148. There was no information in the box even explaining where the diffuser can from or how to use it. It wasn’t packaged in its own box, but the pieces were bubble wrapped with tape.

I had no idea I could return this box. I’m going to contact Fancy to see if I can. I’m envious of the woman whose diffuser oil spilled over everything else in her box, because at least she’s getting her money back.

This box makes the Pop Sugar CFDA Box look like a Gold Mine, trust me!

      • Okay, update with PA Anna’s help (thank you :)! I’ll double check and repost if necessary, but she got a value of $148 for diffuser. I should mention that this doesn’t jive with what I received (quality, presentation, etc) – but we all know how retails prices are sometimes just a wee bit inflated – so if you add that value in, that makes the retail value of the $500 box (not taking into account how much the book sells for on Amazon, etc) $620. Not awesome, but I’m rethinking my statement about PopSugar. After all, they did price those earring at $398. And anyone who takes the time to google the Loess Wrap Clutch will understand that even though I now realize that I paid full retail value for it, I’m okay.

Still wish I hadn’t spent this much money on this box. But I’m learning. Thanks for all of your help out there!

  2. This is the fastest shipping ever. I appreciate that Fancy wanted me to have this in time for Mother’s Day (Sorry Lindsay). I purchased the $100 box which I do like. It’s more of the typical sub box offerings, but I do like and can use everything except for one item. I wonder what is in the $200 and $500 boxes?

I can see why Cloud had such difficulties with the glass because the box was hot glued shut.

Fancy used bubble wrap and pink, white, and yellow tissue paper for the packaging. There’s also a Happy Mother’s Day acknowledgment card with matching ribbon. I thought that the tissue paper and card were nice touches. (This is nice packaging compared to how they packaged their subs in the past) I love the necklace, candle, and notebook. I think the Tea Party Mug set will be used often once I figure it out. I’m not able to use the earrings. Now for those that wonder about the value. My final total with shipping and taxes came to $133.70 which is a little less than the Mother’s Day Oui, Please box. The value of the box is almost equal to my final total. I do love the items and am fine with that. I’m hoping the earrings will swap so I can pick up one more item that I like.

Liz – Please delete if I shouldn’t be using the spoiler email that Fancy sent me.

    Small Box:

    Cardinal Points Laurel Canyon Candle

Mom’s love candles. That’s a fact. This one is inspired by vast, mountainous magnificence, with a scent that allows for a wash of clean, natural airiness.

    Audrey Necklace

Good news for mom, Audrey will never go out of style! Delicate gold filled chain with gold filled beads.

    Audrey Earring

One less thing that mom has to think about when she wears her Audrey Necklace. This matching pair of earrings features a delicate gold filled chain with gold filled beads.

    Tea Party Mug Set

Artistic and graceful, the Tea Party Mug Set is like a teapot in a cup. It is very easy to use: place the infuser basket in the cup, add the tea, add the hot water and then cover.

Jardin Smyth Sewn Journal (my comment – Rifle Paper)

This journal features a soft linen cover with hand-painted florals and smyth sewn binding for durability. The interior pages are printed with metallic gold lines and accents.

  3. I purchased the $100.00 box today. Fancy set me the spoilers which I like.

  4. FYI regarding my Large Fancy Mother’s Day box. I received the box yesterday and the HUGE coffee table book they included in the gift box ended up smashing everything in the box (including the fragrance diffuser) so everything inside was ruined!

I don’t know why they decided to put a huge fashion coffee book inside a box with glass objects and only packaged it with a sheet of bubble wrap and 4 sheets of wrapping paper?!? The fragrance was oily so it messed up the book and other items inside the box.

When I went to open the box I ended up cutting myself from the glass shards that were loose and stuck to everything. They also did not use any packing tape, only using a hot glue gun to secure the box so pieces of broken glass fell out of the box and onto my entry way and I ended up stepping on a couple of of small pieces. Yes, I should probably rethink the no shoes in house issue and should probably hire a personal box checker.

To make a long story short, my husband packaged it and we are returning the box. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I hope everyone else’s box was better packaged and you don’t hurt yourself taking things out. I’m not bitter, just sad that this did not turn out to be the best Mother’s Day gift!

    • That’s terrible! Sorry your Mother’s Day surprise was ruined! What did the company say?

      • They “graciously” allowed me to return the damaged box. I am waiting for the saga to be done before I add anymore details. I’m very wary and hope they can take care of this so I do not have to involve my credit card company. Now I have to run out tonight and find another gift for my mom. Good thing I love shopping!

        • Oh no. I’m sorry that this happened to you. I hope everything works out in the end.

          • Thank you for all the kind words. I’ll update if anyone is interested. Most important is that every mom has a Happy Mother’s Day!

          • Please update.

  5. I think I was an idiot to use my Fancy credits and order this.

Guaranteed delivery of May 5th? Mine shipped today. (May 6th). It will deliver on May 12th (Mother’s Day is May 10th). I feel really bad for the people that spent a lot of money on these.

  6. I went online this morning to order and all three sizes of boxes were still available to order. I wonder if they’ve increased their stock?

    • That’s good to know. I was all set to buy one the other day and it was sold out. Now I am going to pass because I bought other boxes. Did you order a box? What size?

  7. They are sold out. I was going to order one if it was still available today.

    • Shipping was $8.95 for the large box. Interesting!

  8. I did it! I did it! My very first Fancy purchase and by far the most expensive. I ordered the LARGE box. My Son encouraged me to do so but I suspect it was his way of saying I deserve it. What a stinker! Clever though because it was my credit card. I still come out on top because I get ten fold of his LOVE and that’s PRICELESS…..

    • I can’t wait to see what you receive. You must post!

    • I ordered a Large box too! For years I wanted to buy a Fancy box and never bit the bullet. Of course, I would be the idiot savant that decides to order the most expensive Fancy Mother’s Day box even after reading all the funny/sad/depressing Fancy boxes reviews.

Anyways, I received a tracking number and it’s about 3 pounds. The recent bad reviews and light weight box size makes me scared/excited/secretly hoping it’s expensive jewelery that isn’t tacky! Glad I am not alone on this.

      • Oops sorry for the double post. I guess I’ve had enough coffee for the day.

  9. I keep checking the website for sold out sign. My Son says I should get the $500 box. He’s so sweet, I love that he doesn’t mind spending my money to buy me things 😉

    • You should ordered it and post what you received 🙂 I may purchase the $100.00 box. April is turning into an expensive month. The kitty box should be shipping soon.

      • i ordered it. i think i’m going to love it. and i agree april has been an expensive month. but just think how fun may will be with all our goodies 🙂

  10. I’m sure the duty/shipping charges probably refer to Canadian customers
When I lived there unfortunately there were times I had to pay duty

  11. Curious but quite hefty price tag for medium and large without past boxes to review and / or knowing what type of items. Is this new at these prices or does anyone have experience?

  12. Would not even consider a box that arrives COD for duties/shipping. Very strange idea for a gift!

  13. Too pricey and risky, especially with no product spoilers, only brands. Otherwise I’d consider getting it for myself!

  14. I’m guessing that the duties and taxes are for Canadian subscribers. I know sometimes a sub box will reimburse for them.

I’m intrigue and am assuming at this point that shipping in the US will be at a set point which is the way it has been with all the Fancy boxes. They always charged for shipping which in the past has been sent through Fedex. I always had to pay tax on my Nicky Hilton Fancy Box and Mystery Boxes.

I logged into my account. Shipping to PA costs:
    1. Small Box $7.95 shipping, tax $7.56
    2. Medium Box $7.95 shipping, tax 1$4.56
    3. Large Box $7.95 shipping, tax $35.66

    • Medium Box tax is $14.56 for PA. I went back to put in the dollar sign and placed it in the wrong spot.

  15. It looks like it will be an awesome box. It also seems like it will be a heavy box(books, paper etc.),so I think the recipient might be paying quite a bit for shipping and handling. I could be wrong though. I guess I could ship it to myself and then deliver it to Mom.

  16. I don’t get why the recipient has to pay fees upon delivery. Weird.

  17. I’m intrigued! But I wouldn’t want my mom to have to pay duty and taxes upon delivery.
