Julep April 2015 Mystery Box Review Box

Lately, Julep has been sending out great mystery boxes, and while I could go years without buying another nail polish – I just can’t resist them! For April, they had two different mystery box options: Cora (Nail Only) Mystery Box or Pamela (Beauty Items) Mystery Box. I decided to go with the Cora box to get all nail polish and nail care related items.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

FYI – this box is no longer available, but they release a new one every month. Also if you haven’t signed up for a Julep Maven subscription yet, use this offer to get your first box for free – just pay $3.99 shipping.

Julep April 2015 Mystery Box Review Polish

Julep Nail Color in Cora – Retail Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Lizanne – Retail Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Hazel – Retail Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Shari – Retail Value $14

The Cora shade is the one made exclusively for this mystery box. It has a nice mermaid-vibe to it, and I think it goes well with the other colors included.

Julep April 2015 Mystery Box Review Remover

Julep Luxe Care Hand Creme – Sample

Julep Clean Slate One-Step Polish Remover Pads (10) – Value $10

I’m never excited about foil packet samples, but I can always used individually wrapped nail polish remover pads.

Julep April 2015 Mystery Box Review Rockstar

Julep Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum – Value $28

Julep Rock Star Hand Creme – 1 oz Value $6.70

I like both of these products – I’d say my favorite is the nail and cuticle serum in part just due to the packaging! But it also works really well too!

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $100. That’s exactly what was promised, so I’m happy with the value, and I’ll use everything too, so that’s even better. I also like that Julep let you customize your mystery box this month with nail polish or beauty items.

What do you think of the April Mystery Box? Which box did you pick?

UPDATE: Thanks Andrea for sharing this picture with us of the bonus necklace she received in her mystery box:

  1. I said I want going to do any extra boxes this month but I caved again! Added the nail polish and got 11$ and some change off with the SpringFun code… then i caved again and added the mega mystery add on… i need to stop myself!

  2. I didn’t get this box or have a subscription to Julep, but Omg! I am in Love with the Cora & Hazel nail colors!!!

  3. Hello! I’m completely new to Julep and their subscription boxes, so I wanted to ask if they have an option to choose between nail and beauty mystery boxes each month? And where can I get the mystery boxes? I don’t see anything about them except for the Maven boxes on their website. And when do they ship? Thanks so much!

    • The mystery boxes release each month (it is NOT a subscription) and can be found in their “New Arrivals” portion of their store. They appear when the new box is for sale, and are gone when they are done selling that mystery box. This month they had two choices between mystery boxes, one being for nail people and one for make-up people. I am unsure if this is typical or if they were trying it out for the first time this past month. I’d say keep checking back randomly to see if they have one up for sale. 🙂

  4. I got my first julep box ever last month – and I loved it – but I didn’t know what to expect for the mystery box so I passed – after seeing this I wish I would have got it! I am in love with that Beautiful green color!

  5. I tried to use that coupon code but it didn’t work 🙁

  6. Another great box from Julep. I added on the mystery nail color, which ended up being a shade I got in last month’s mystery box (bummer), also added on Shelly and used the free polish code. In total I had two colors that were already in my collection from past mystery boxes or gifts, but had 7 all together which for the price is well worth it. The two dupes will make great gifts. Everything else is extra in my opinion because I just love Julep polishes and I am not a subscriber, I strictly buy their mystery boxes or when there’s a deep discount code. I also appreciated being able to opt out of make up this time around. I don’t need anymore mascaras, lip glosses and eyeliners.

  7. I also got the nail box and I thought it was a great box. I got the same items as Liz but I was also lucky enough to get the necklace that was only supposed to be in a few of the boxes and it’s really pretty.

    • wow that sounds great.
perhaps you can pass a photo of it onto liz to put up on here. id love to see it.

  8. I got the beauty box and added quite a few things to it, the Wizard of Oz Collection, Get Glam collection and Julep Shelly. I think the beauty box was kind of disappointing for me, think it had the blank canvas primer I’ve already received, a liner, lipgloss I’ve already received too. Not as great as the last couple mystery boxes.

  9. I got the beauty mystery box and it includes 2 nail polishes (I don’t remember which ones) an eyeshadow with a mirror, an eyeliner that was double ended with black and brown with a sharpener, a lip gloss and eye primer. I also got an add on product. It was a nice box especially for the price.

  10. We ordered the beauty items box and it was great!
In the nail box you received, I saw that you got the Rock Star hand lotion, it’s always on the my table next to my chair, I really enjoy how light it is and the light scent. I had ordered the nail and cuticle pen in December, it fixed Emmy’s cuticles right up and she stopped biting her nails. I wish I had known about this pen years ago after buying all of those stop nail biting polishes, this is the thing that did it. The Cora polish is so pretty and Emmy’s favorite color. I’m going to go see if it available for an add-on so I can put it in her birthday box next month 🙂

    • What was in the beauty box??

  11. I got this one, too. First Julep purchase in months. I used a code to add on a polish. Unfortunately, the polish I chose was Hazel. So now I have two of them. Although I am wearing it right now and I like it.

  12. I got this same one (and a free polish with the coupon code) and was really impressed. I like that they did a “nail box” that wasn’t just polish. Loved this one!
