Golden Tote $49 Tote Review – March 2015 Tote

Golden Tote is one of my favorite monthly packages – and I think a good deal of my wardrobe is now from Golden Tote items!

If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from).

FYI – This is not a typical subscription, each month they release a new collection and you can decide whether or not you want to buy it. For returns it’s an all-or-nothing deal. You can return the entire tote for a refund, but you can’t return individual pieces.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Golden Tote $49 Tote Review – March 2015 Dress

Potter’s Pot Pop Print Dress – Value $35

Fabric content: self: 70% rayon, 26% polyester, 4% spandex, contrast: 100% polyester

Care instructions: Dry clean only, lay flat to dry, do not bleach, low iron if necessary

This was my pick for the $49 tote. (When you do the $49 tote, you get to pick one item, and they surprise you with 1-2 more items).

I had been eyeing this dress for a while (I believe it was available in February too). Since Golden Tote was offering free shipping on all tote orders in March, I decided to go for it in the $49 tote).

Golden Tote $49 Tote Review – March 2015 Back

The front print fabric doesn’t have any stretch to it, but the fabric on the back is a soft and stretchy t-shirt like material.

I think this is such a fun and easy to wear summer shift dress. Sometimes shift dresses make me look really boxy, but this one actually drapes and is very flattering. I’ll need to be careful washing it though since the material composition is different on the front and back.

Now on to my surprise item:

Golden Tote $49 Tote Review – March 2015 Top

Love Stitch Blouse – Value $40?

Fabric content: self: 47% rayon, 53% polyester

Care instructions: hand wash cold, lay flat to dry, do not bleach,

This blouse is slightly sheer, so I’ll have to layer it over a tank, or use it as a swimsuit coverup. The fabric is lightweight and has a silky feel to it – I think this is a perfect summer/vacation top.

Verdict: I paid $49 for this tote (with free shipping for March), so that works out to $24.50 a piece. I’m happy with that value per piece, and I lucked out since I like both pieces.

I also bought a $149 tote, so that review will be up soon! What did you pick from Golden Tote this month?

  1. I love that dress, like LOVE!!! What do you do with all of your tote bags Liz? They are so cute!

    • Whenever I get something in a subscription box that I think would be great for a friend/family member, I deliver it in a tote! 🙂

      • That’s an awesome idea!

  2. You should think about showing the clothes actually on, as opposed to the seamstress’ mannequin! It would really help show how the clothes fit and flow. Can’t wait to see your large tote reveal!

  3. I went Golden Tote crazy this month. I bought (and am wearing today) the spring top. I also bought the same dress you did, plus the striped blazer and the cool & casual top. My surprises were 90% hits for me this month, I think their new profile system is really working well

  4. I think you’re around my height (I’m 5’6”), is the pop print dress too short to wear as a dress?

    • It is about as short as I will go on dress hem length. It wouldn’t be office-appropriate, but OK for casual summer wear. Hope that helps!

      • It does, thanks!

        • At 5’9″ it’s why I can’t wear things from golden tote. Well, that and I’m approaching 40, lol.

          • I approached 40 last year and I’m surprised you think GT is too young for you! There are plenty of neutrals and prints that don’t look overly childish
