Scentbird is a perfume sampling subscription box that sends you 100% authentic perfumes every month. When you sign up, you take a preferences quiz to help them suggest recommendations for you to try, and you can also go browse and rate the rest of their selection to make the recommendations even more accurate. You can build a queue of fragrances you’d like to try or you can let yourself be surprised every month.
Because this subscription is so heavily personalized, the fragrance I selected to review this month is only one of a large number other subscribers may have received.
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Along with the fragrance you receive each month, Scentbird also includes a card describing the “perfume of the month” for the next month. April’s perfume is Clique by Roblé. I haven’t tried a “perfume of the month” recommendation yet, but I just added this one to my queue for next month! The description makes it sound amazing. How could a fragrance with notes inspired by French Toast Crunch be bad?
With your first month’s delivery, you receive a perfume case that fits your 8 ml sprays inside – this card details how to use it!
This is the purse spray case you get with your first month, with the sample vial inside. You can see it closed (top) and open (bottom). I have to say that this is what makes this subscription for me. The case is has a nice weight, is sleek, and feels high quality. It’s easy to open and close, and to switch perfumes you just open the case, pull the vial out, and place the next one inside!
The fragrance I selected this month is Pink Sugar Sensual by Aquolina. It has top notes of black currant, tangerine, and bergamot; middle notes of orange flower, pink jasmine, and tiare flower; and base notes of vanilla, black sugar, and sandalwood.
One main reason I selected this scent is because I’m really familiar with the original Pink Sugar fragrance by Aquolina. It’s one of the sweetest, almost candy-esque fragrances I know. It seems to be a very young, “girlish” perfume (it even has notes of cotton candy), so I was interested in trying out the Sensual version, thinking it’ll be slightly more grown-up.
I was right! Pink Sugar Sensual, to me, is much more floral-sweet than the purely sugar-sweet of the original. That being said, this is definitely still a very sweet perfume. It is very playful with a little bit of sex appeal. I think it’s easy to wear, and would be a good fragrance pick any time of year.
A .34 oz/10 ml bottle of this fragrance sells for about $19, so this .27 oz/8 ml spray is worth about $1511. The sample size Scentbird sends is enough for a month of use, with two applications a day.
This month, they also included a $25 promo card for Le Tote, which is “Netflix for Women’s Fashion.”
The Verdict: Scentbird is probably my favorite fragrance subscription. I know I can trust the perfumes they send to be authentic and, month after month, I find that I also get a good deal for the amount of perfume I get. Their selection is a nice size and has lots of variety. You can find a lot of department store/popular brands to try; I’ve found they don’t typically carry perfumes that have been very newly released, but you can always email them requests. They keep a list of perfumes they plan on adding, and requests for specific fragrances bump it up in priority.
I also feel like this is an excellent option for people who want to explore the world of fragrance even if they’re not very familiar or practiced with identifying notes or knowing how to describe the kinds of perfumes they like. Their website is easy to use and search, has detailed descriptions about each perfume, and provides you with lots of recommendations based on your tastes. All in all, I’m really happy with this sub!
