Each box comes with a brochure detailing the theme and the items selected for the month. This month’s box includes “Healthy Food Finds” by Healthy Grocery Girl.
The brochure provides a quick description of the items included in the box and clearly outlines which items are gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO, etc. I like that they display this information so prominently.
Lightly Salted Plaintain chips by Turbana- 1.05 oz, value $.91
Sea Salt Bops by Good Boy Organics- .8 oz, value $1.04
I’ve always enjoyed plantain chips, and I love how these by Turbana are sliced very thinly. They’re lightly salted, which contrasts wonderfully with the subtle natural sweetness of the plantain.
Bops are baked potato snacks that I found to be similar in flavor to Baked Lays; however, the texture is a little different. Bops have a slightly puffier texture that I thought was kind of addictive. They’re organic, gluten-free, and verified to be Non-GMO by the Non-GMO Project. They also have 65% less fat than regular potato chips.
Annie's Chocolate Bunny Grahams- 1 oz, value $1.12
Roasted Chickpeas with Sea Salt by The Good Bean- .75 oz, value $.68
Bunny Grahams are one of my favorite discoveries from this box! I loved the addition of chocolate to the classic flavor of graham crackers, and the little bite-sized bunnies were so cute. I would definitely buy these again.
I love roasted chickpeas, so I was very happy to see these included in the box. Their salty crunch makes them crave-worthy, but they’re also high in protein and fiber.
Nutty Rice Bites with Cranberries by 180 Snacks- .62 oz, value $.83
Natural Hemp Hearts by Manitoba Harvest- .5 oz, $.56
The Nutty Rice Bites are slightly sweet, crunchy, and vegan and gluten-free. I really enjoyed them.
Hemp hearts are small, nutty-flavored pellets that can be sprinkled on salads, sandwiches, yogurt, or cereal to easily increase protein intake. (Three tablespoons of hemp hearts provide 10 grams of plant-based protein.) I’m not sure I would consider these a snack, but I suppose you could eat them on their own.
Almond Butter Cacao Truffle by Two Moms in the Raw- 1 oz, value $1.33
Choco Chews by Trujoy Sweets- 3 chews, value $.66
Morning Organic Tea by Miracle Tree- 1 bag, value $.30
When I think of a truffle, I think of a rich, chocolately, melt-in-your-mouth sweet treat, and this was something else entirely. This truffle was a chewy patty of chopped almonds, agave, cacao, and sea salt that reminded me of chocolate marzipan. I enjoyed this snack, but it certainly wasn’t what I expected!
Choco Chews are vegan, organic, gluten-free, and non-GMO chewy chocolate candies. I thought they were similar to Tootsie Rolls, but the flavor was definitely more like that of real chocolate.
Mint tea is a favorite of mine, so I’m always happy to have more. I’ve tried this brand before, and I’m a fan.
As always, Love with Food included a handful of coupons and promo cards.
Verdict: Overall, I really enjoyed this Love with Food box. The value of the items adds up to $7.50, which is a little higher than it was last month. I’d still like to see the value increase further, but I think Love with Food does a great job of choosing snacks that are delicious and junk-free. While this certainly isn’t a box with sky-high value, I always really enjoy what they send. It’s also nice to know that for each box purchased the company will donate a meal to a hungry American child. For me, knowing that my snacking has a charitable impact helps make up for the lower-than-ideal value of the box.
