The box comes with a fold out card including a letter from the GlobeIn team, an Indonesian Coconut Rice recipe, and backgrounds on each of the makers featured in the box.
Palm Leaf Basket – Value $12
Each box comes with some of the contents packaged in a palm leaf basket.
Bambu Coconut Bowl – Value $14
These bowls are made from coconut shells, with a metallic paint finish on the outside:
This is a perfect trinket bowl for my desk, and I love the color! (I’m not sure if there will be variations for subscribers, but if there are, I will probably try to swap for the gold and silver verion!)
Prana Market Tote – Value $5
This is one of my favorite items in the box – I just love getting totes in subscription boxes! It’s wider than your typical tote (19 inches across), and it is very well made as well. I’m actually surrpised it retails for only $5! I would have guessed at least $10 or $15.
Lotus Foods Volcano Rice – Value $4.69
This rice contains a blend of organic red and brown rice. Rice is the main grain I cook, so I’m excited to try a new variety!
Sweet Riot Cocao Nibs – Value $3.75
EcoLips Lip Balm in Cocoa Vanilla Nut – Value $6
These chocolate covered cocao nibs are delicious and dairy-free! I’ve been eating them straight out of the container, but I’m sure they would make a great dessert topping as well.
I really like the flavor of this lip balm too. Unfortunately I must have opened it the wrong way because I managed to remove all of the outside tube packaging, but I was able to fix it to almost 100%. (It’s a push-up tube, and the outer part of the tube disconnected from the inner part).
Verdict: This box has a value of about $45. I’m happy with the value for the monthly cost, and I love that everything is fair trade. Plus I’ll use absolutely everything this month!
