Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – February 2015

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Box

Wantable Accessories is one of the three Wantable subscription options. Each month they typically send you three items in categories like jewelry, scarves, sunglasses, etc. You can heavily customize this box by picking out which categories of items you want, and what styles and materials you prefer. (Lately I’ve been requesting only scarves and hair accessories – but I recently opened up to watches and necklaces too.)

Wantable sent me this box to review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Here is the invoice of my order with retail prices.

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Preferences

And here are the categories I picked out. You must pick at least two categories for your likes or loves. You will never get any items on your dislike list.

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Necklace

Yasmin Gold Necklace – Retail Value $24

This is my kind of statement necklace! It is made with three separate pieces so it lays beautifully too.

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Pendant

Amanda Gold Necklace – Value $21

I have nothing like this necklace, and I love the look of natural stone with metal, so it is another win for me. Here is a close up of the detail:

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Watch

Mary Ellen Watch – Retail Value $36

I like that the chain on this watch lends itself well to pairing with some bracelets. (I don’t wear watches often, but I like the look of a watch stacked with a few bracelets). It’s probably time for me to update my preferences since I don’t wear watches as often as I get them, and my experience with Wantable Accessories is that if you tell them you like watches you will get a watch in every single box!

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Headband

Cindy Headband – Retail Value $16

I think I’m going to leave a note on my account that while I like gold tones for jewelry, I don’t need gold toned hair pieces. (I’d prefer neutral non-metallic pieces).

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $97. These aren’t branded pieces (I think I’ve only seen one branded hairband from Wantable Accessories), so I’d take the retail prices as suggested values from Wantable. So while I’m not sure this box is worth $97 to me, I think it is worth the $10 a piece the subscription breaks down to. I also think that the pieces lately have been matching my style, and I’m thrilled with that!

What do you think of Wantable Accessories? Have you been happy with the value?

  1. Based on this gorgeous collection, I signed up for Wantable and just received my first box.

The good: a trendy stone cuff bracelet.

The bad: earrings which are on my “dislike” list (huh?).

The ugly: necklace with broken clasp, ring suited to a debutante and I am over 50.

These things can happen on the first try with so many variables. I can see they did not throw junk in a box, someone was trying. So I wrote a polite note and we’ll see how the money works out with a defective item? Return it but give me full credit for keeping is what I’d expect? Also, I see the benefit of being specific on the style profile and will try that.

Is our stylist always the same person? That bodes well for growing in mutual understanding over time.

  2. I bought the one time Accessories box and I loved everything they sent. It was all exactly what I would have picked out. Two gold statement necklaces (one long pendant with jewels, and one shorter one that had quite a few hanging upside down triangles) hard to explain, but really cute. A silver bangle, and a gold ring that wrapped around your finger. I was extremely happy with this box.

  3. I think I need to tweak my Accessories profile some. I tend to like 2/4 items (so I figure it works out pricewise), but I only liked 1 in my most recent box. I’ve generally had luck with swapping items from the Accessories and Intimates boxes. For some reason, I haven’t been able to swap stuff from Makeup boxes, even though they’re full size and not something everyone gets like Glossybox or Boxycharm. Maybe because people aren’t familiar with them?

  4. I have never received a box from Wantables that was as nice as this, from either of my subscribed collections, Intimates or Accessories. When my subscription runs out I am done.

  5. Hello Liz!
I was excited to see a link for 30% off any wantables subscription but when I tried to use it there was no discount showing. Is it for a monthly subscription or does it have to be a 3,6 month etc.? Thank you!

    • Hello, did you figure it out? I’m having the same problem.. I would love to sign up with the 30% discount but it doesn’t seem to be working for me as well.

  6. I got the same “stone” necklace this month, and while I had asked for it and was initially excited, I realized quickly it’s a resin. That was a little disappointing, and I felt the price was rather inaccurate–$21 for a fake agate stone necklace. But, I loved everything else, and still kinda like the necklace, so I was pleased this month!

    • I got the same “stone” necklace this month, and while I had asked for it and was initially excited, I realized quickly it’s a resin. That was a little disappointing, and I felt the price was rather inaccurate–$21 for a fake agate stone necklace. But, I loved everything else, and still kinda like the necklace, so I was pleased this month! Plus, I love that they put the people who picked out your items and packed your box. Michael did a great job of matching my taste preferences!

  7. I have been trying to get a watch and hair accessories, it seems that they only want to send me bracelets that are too big and necklaces. Trying one more time after tweaking my preferences and specifically telling them that my watch broke. I loved my first box, hoping that this next one is good.

  8. My first accessories box was such a total miss that I cancelled immediately. I came back with the 30% “we want you back” offer. I really tweaked my profile (hopefully no insane earrings this time), and am hoping for the best. I love that second necklace, Liz. My problem is that I really only like pendants, and I didn’t see that as a choice. I’m not a STATEMENT necklace kind of girl.

  9. I’ve had lots of problems with Wantable. I’m trying really hard to like them, the idea of monthly shipments of jewellery, accessories and intimates is very appealing.
However, despite a few calls to tweak my preferences, I’m continually sent items that are so wrong for me it’s laughable. It’s almost as though they look at my ‘likes’ and play opposites. One accessories month, when my comments/notes clearly said that I can only wear cool colours and silver tones, they sent an orange scarf, brown and gold sunglasses and a couple of other very ‘warm’ toned items.
I received an intimates box containing an incorrect item. I returned it and the replacement was also wrong.
I have many credits accumulated from all the returns, I wish I could just call it a day and get a refund.

    • I had the same thing happen many times on my intimates collection. I’ve since given up on that collection. – On the accessories collection, I had that happen 2 times, the third time I decided to pick a store that resembles my style and that i like to shop in. I simply put in comments what my style is and what store i shop at most. It worked! I liked all the items in that box!

      • Thanks Lily, what a great idea. I’m am Anthropologie girl at heart, so maybe they’ll take a cue from that.

        • Your welcome – Initially I was writing a lot in the wantable comments section- ir did not work, i think i confused them-LOL – when ever i want to change my look i just ad the store that resembles the look i’m looking to achieve. So far it has worked, I hope it continues to work.

  10. Ooh I love both of those necklaces…2/4 isn’t too bad, but not enough for me to subscribe. Perhaps they will come up in swaps.

  11. I love everything you got. I liked 2 of the items I got, and hated 2 others. I may try it one more time copying your preferences.
