Sharing Small Subscription Box - January 2015 Box

Sharing Small is a children’s “sock of the month” club. Every month, they send children (aged 2-12) fun new socks in a package addressed directly to them, with a fun letter and sticker included in each package. For every pair purchased, they also donate a pair to children in need.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Sharing Small Subscription Box - January 2015 Info

This is the letter included. It’s from the “Sharing Small Explorers” and they talk about hopping in a time machine and running from a dinosaur – the inspiration for the design on the socks this month.

They also included a sticker and a photo of the adventure.

These are the two pairs of socks. Each pair of socks has the explorers on it and features the adventure of that month.

Verdict: Sharing Small seems like a really cute subscription box. I like that it can be a fun little thing for children to look forward to each month. I especially appreciate the fact that, for every pair bought, they donate a pair to children in need. It helps open up the discussion with your kids about giving back, and also makes the $10/month mean something more than just the cost of 2 pairs of socks.

What do you think about Sharing Small?

I don’t know how I missed this initial post, but I think this is really cute. Every morning we have a sock search. No, it’s not a fun game, it’s an “I don’t have enough time to pair socks” thing. 2 pairs in the mail every month mean at least 2 fewer days of my least favorite game. Also, with free shipping it makes the price fall into the reasonable category for me so I’ve decided to give it a try

I ordered this. It’s a Canadian subscription so after the currency exchange I paid a total of $7.81. The package arrived about 1week after I ordered. The socks are a nice quality and really cute. My son was very excited about them.

This looks fun! I may sign up my 6 year old for it. It doesn’t bother me that their names are on the socks. It’s a great conversation starter.

I agree, those socks are pretty tame for kids socks. I don’t really like having their name so prominent. Also, while they seem to think it’s cute to have the letter/package addressed to the kid, I never give out my kid’s name to companies – no telling what they’ll do with it (intentionally or not).

I agree with that! I never give out my children’s names either. And I also don’t like the company name so large on the socks. I feel like they want me to pay them so I can advertise their product on my child’s feet. I would love to see a kids sock company that sends out two pair of just FUN socks, with the option to choose what gender. I can pick out my own charity to donate to.

I think this is a great idea! My niece would love this. Each month the adventure changes, and she learns that it’s not all about her. Each time she gets a pair of socks, another person in need gets a pair too. I think they’re cute.

I think it’s a cute idea, but do you get two pair of the exact same socks each month?? I would probably subscribe if it was two different pair each time. And is there a choice of gender? Because I know my girls would not like dinosaur socks! 🙂 or anything else boyish for that matter.

Well I visited the website, and while I think it’s a great idea, I think the socks are pretty ugly, and nothing girly available at all, so I guess it’s not for us.
