Scentbird Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Package

Scentbird is a perfume sampling subscription box that sends you 100% authentic perfumes every month. When you sign up, you take a preferences quiz to help them suggest recommendations for you to try, and you can also go browse and rate the rest of their selection to make the recommendations even more accurate. You can build a queue of fragrances you’d like to try or you can let yourself be surprised every month.

Because this subscription is so heavily personalized, the fragrance I selected to review this month is only one of a large number other subscribers may have received.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Scentbird Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Anna Sui

Along with the fragrance you receive each month, Scentbird also includes a card describing the “perfume of the month” for the next month. March’s perfume is La Vie De Boheme from Anna Sui.

Scentbird Subscription Box Review – February 2015 How To

With your first month’s delivery, you receive a perfume case that fits your 8 ml sprays inside – this card details how to use it!

Scentbird Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Spray

This is the purse spray case you get with your first month, with the sample vial inside. You can see it closed (top) and open (bottom). I have to say that this is what makes this subscription for me. The case is has a nice weight, is sleek, and feels high quality. It’s easy to open and close, and to switch perfumes you just open the case, pull the vial out, and place the next one inside!

Scentbird Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Daisy

The fragrance I selected this month is Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs. It has notes of blackberry, grapefruit, pear, jasmine, lychee, blue wisteria, white woods, musks, and coconut water.

I really like this scent, especially for spring! Daisy Dream is definitely a fruity floral. The fruits are the top notes so they’re what you smell initially upon applying. Once it settles for a minute the floral notes come through and stay, balanced lightly with the white woods, musks, and coconut water base notes. This is a playful, easy-to-wear, daytime fragrance that definitely has me longing for springtime!

A .33 oz/9.7 ml rollerball of this fragrance sells for $24, so this .27 oz/8 ml spray is worth about $19.64. The sample size Scentbird sends is enough for a month of use, with two applications a day.

Verdict: Scentbird is probably my favorite fragrance subscription. I know I can trust the perfumes they send to be authentic and, month after month, I find that I also get a good deal for the amount of perfume I get. Their selection is also nice and you can find a lot of department store/popular brands to try; I’ve found they don’t carry perfumes that have been very newly released, but you can always email them requests. They keep a list of perfumes they plan on adding, and requests for specific fragrances bump it up in priority.

I also feel like this is an excellent option for people who want to explore the world of fragrance even if they’re not very familiar or practiced with identifying notes or knowing how to describe the kinds of perfumes they like. Their website is easy to use and search, has detailed descriptions about each perfume, and provides you with lots of recommendations based on your tastes. All in all, I’m really happy with this sub.

What do you think of Scentbird?

I, too, LOVE this subscription. The current selection is great, but I love that they add to it. My current queue is filled for OVER A YEAR! and I keep adding scents. Also, I want to give a shout out to their customer service. I received the wrong perfume this month (same brand, different scent). I immediately emailed and they got back to me the same day and said a replacement was on it’s way and they hope I can gift the unwanted spray to a friend. By the time I thought to email back and ask for a tracking code, it arrived that day. The perfumes are 100% authentic (I have also stocked up on my regular scents for purse versions!) and a great value for the amount. I don’t see myself quitting this one any time soon!

I also subscribed to this & I was wondering if anyone could tell me about their spritz thingy & how the perfume came out – I guess I was expecting to to spray out more like a normal perfume bottle/even the small sample ones – but mine does not do that, it kind of just sputters out some drops – I didn’t know if it was malfunctioning or if that is how they all were.

Yup, contact them and I’m sure you’ll get a replacement. However, you may not have it swiveled all the way up. I just tried with mine and if it isn’t completely open, it doesn’t spray a full fine spray. Check that first!

Mine works fine, just like a regular spray bottle, you should contact them and let them know maybe they can replace it. 🙂

LOVE this subscription. They sent me one month to review and I am hooked. The amount of perfume you get is awesome and it’s so fun to sample. I get bored with big bottles so this is perfect.

I LOOOVE this subscription!!! Love everything about it. The only think I’m sad about it, it’s that they don’t carry Channel scents 🙁 one of my favorite perfume brands. But overall I’m glad I subscribed.

Lady, email them! Like I said, requests from customers help make certain fragrances more of a priority for them to add soon. =] They may already be planning on adding it soon!

Their customer service is awesome! I actually lost my dispenser and emailed asking if i could purchase another one. I received an email back in less than an hour letting me know that they would be happy to include another one in my next order-free of charge. This is my 4th month with them. My plan is to get “purse” bottles of all the scents I already have, and then start in on some new flavors!

I just subbed too, with the Rue LaLa deal, and I’m happy so far as well. I wasn’t sure about the recommended scents as I knew I wasn’t crazy about a couple of them from testers, so I went with the fragrance of the month, Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa by Guerlain. I really like it, so now I’m tempted by the next fragrance of the month as well (although I have a bunch picked out in my queue too!). Thanks for reviewing this one Haley!
