Good Habit Box Subscription Box Review - January 2015 Box

Good Habit Box is healthy subscription box for busy active professionals with something for every part of your day. You can choose to receive one or two boxes every month. Each box contains 3 breakfast, 3 snacks and 10 premium teas. All their food is natural, gluten free (though not certified, as they may be processed in a facility that processes wheat), and vegetarian (but keep an eye out for honey). They offer a “wellness” box variation and a “fitness” box variation.

This is a review of the wellness variation.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Good Habit Box Subscription Box Review - January 2015 Facts

All nutritional facts for every item are also offered, including ingredients in the teas!

Good Habit Box Subscription Box Review - January 2015 Oatmeal

Apple Cardamom Walnut Oatmeal – 1.5 oz each, two packs

Very Berry Oatmeal – 1.5 oz

I love that this oatmeal is gluten-free, and these flavors sound delicious.

Good Habit Box Subscription Box Review - January 2015 Nuts

Au Naturale Nut & Seed blend – 1.3 oz

Honey Balsamic Cashews & Fig blend – 1.3 oz

Lime Pistachio Blend – 1.3 oz

These nut blends are really interesting flavors and are roasted to a really nice texture. My favorite blend was the Honey Balsamic Cashews and Fig.

Good Habit Box Subscription Box Review - January 2015 Tea

Celebration Black Tea – 10 tea bags

This tea is a black tea, made with cranberry, apple, peach, orange peel, rosehips, rose petals, cornflower petals, cinnamon, natural coconut flavor, and almond pieces! I love this combination of so many flavors, and really enjoy this tea blend.

Verdict: The Good Habit Box seems like a really great idea to have some healthier, convenient snacks on hand. I love that the oatmeal is made with gluten-free oats, and the packaging also makes each snack easy to take with you or throw in your purse for something on-the-go. Overall, I like their idea and execution! As far as value goes, it’s hard to do a specific breakdown, since the items are specifically made by Good Habit Box, but I think the $19.99 may seem a little high for the amount of product you get, but I know a lot of the value in their vision comes from the convenience factor too.

What do you think of the Good Habit Box?

Tried this box for one month and although the packaging and products are very nice, my husband and son are just not interested in tea or oatmeal, which makes up at least half of the subscription box options. I also don’t care for nuts in my oatmeal and didn’t like that I couldn’t opt of receiving this selection (Gingered Figs and Walnut).

However, if you are a big tea drinker or enjoy oatmeal on a regular basis, I’d definitely recommend trying this box! I also want to share that canceling was SO EASY. I basically logged on to my account and clicked cancel. That was it, honestly! I really appreciate a company that doesn’t make me jump through hoops to cancel a sub.

So, if you are on the fence about trying this sub out – I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. I’m not sorry I did – it’s always fun to try something new and Good Habits has good business practices, as well.

Is honey not vegetarian? I realize its not vegan but how is it not vegetarian?

Marissa, I included this information for everyone’s personal preference. Some vegetarians choose not to consume honey, and some do. I just wanted to make sure to provide as much information as possible for everyone. =]

Value is significantly higher than 9-10 bucks. Gfree oatmeal packets are 1-2 bucks a piece, quality tea with nuts and whole pieces of fruit would run you about 4-5 bucks, and the nuts would be 1-3 bucks each for similar gourmet mixes. So bottom value is 10 high value is 20. I still think the company charging 20 is a bit much. If it was 15 I would probably sub to try it out

By my estimates it has a value of $6-9. Plus shipping I guess. Oatmeal is normally $0.15 for the grocery store brand or up to $0.33 per pack for premium stuff. Tea is $2.50 for a box. Nuts are a buck and change each.
