Each box comes with a link and code to get your instructions for the project (right). This month, they also designed the back of the link card to have four different inspiration cards, too.
The Subscription Box: Darby Smart To DIY For Box
The Cost: $19
The Products: Each box will include: all the craft supplies you need, step-by-step instructions and inspirational project photos.
Ships to: US only.
Here are the raw materials included in the box. There’s 2 plain white tea towels, a foam tray, a large rubber stamp (it’s a wooden block with thick rubber on one side), a tool for carving the rubber stamp (that came with 3 different sizes of carving tips), ink, and a rubber roller to put the paint onto the stamp.
Here’s the example photo from Darby Smart’s website, showing one towel with all stripes, and another with words printed instead of a design.
Here’s my finished design! It’s not perfect, but I like the way it turned out. I started out planning to do an all chevron pattern, and then realized just how ambitious/difficult that would be to carve after starting one side. I changed the rest of the stamp to simple stripes, and it actually turned out pretty well!
Verdict: I really enjoyed this Darby Smart project! Not only did I get a lot of room for customization, I also get something I can use around the house or for décor (probably décor – these aren’t machine-washable, just washable by hand, and I probably won’t put that effort into cleaning them anyway).
