Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review – December 2014
Wantable is a monthly subscription service that has 3 different plans: Makeup, Accessories, and Intimates. (Plus a styling service for Fitness clothing similar to Stitch Fix in the try-then-buy model) It’s one of the pricier subscriptions ($36 a month), but everything they send is full size, and they fully customize the boxes based on your preferences.
Wantable sent me this makeup box at no cost to review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
The Subscription Box: Wantable Makeup Subscription
The Cost: $36 a month (one time only purchase available for $40)
The Products: Makeup, nail polish and tools based on your profile settings.
Ships to: US, Canada (additional $6), UK (additional $7) and Australia (additional $10)

You get to take a very detailed survey of what items you love, like and dislike. You won’t receive anything in your dislike list.
I used to get very specific with this list, but I’ve found that I have better luck at high-value boxes when fewer things are on my dislike list.
And here’s my order summary.
Geri G. Innocent Foundation in Light – Value $38
Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Pure Nude – Value $17
This foundation is very lightweight and almost has a bit of a mousse-like consistency. It’s a tad too light for my skintone, but it goes on somewhat sheer so I can still use it. And since they only offer 4-shades, I’m guessing this is my shade – medium would probably be too dark.
As soon as I saw the word “Sparklicity” on this eye shadow powder, I had a feeling it would be a little too much look for me. Fortunately the sparkle size is pretty micro – so I can avoid the “glitter all over my face” look. This will be perfect for adding just a little bit of sparkle for more formal looks.
Surratt Beauty Lip Lustre in Tres Chic – Value $32
(Pia) Beauty Eye Shadow in Disco #788436 – Value $19.50
On the applicator, this lip gloss looks deep purple, but just a little bit applied didn’t look too bold of a lip color for me. It’s a super glossy and rich looking formula with a little stickiness – but nothing that I find bothersome.
This pressed power eye shadow goes on smoothly and it is a very wearable shimmery copper shade.
Verdict: My favorite Wantable subscription is usually Intimates, but lately Makeup seems to be my favorite – I really like all the new brands they’ve been including, and I think it also helped to open up my preferences more. Plus this box has a value of over $100!
