The Music Box is a monthly subscription service that sends you music and music-related gifts. They hand pick emerging artists (keeping in mind your favorite genres) and send you new music every month. They offer 3 subscription options: The Box is a monthly box delivery containing items like CD's, posters, stickers, wristbands, t-shirts, and more. Another option is the Envelope, which gets you a monthly compilation CD with 10-14 different artists. The Bundle package gets you both a music box and the envelope.
Because the Music Box curates every subscriber’s package with their individual music preferences in mind, my box will vary from others. This is a review of the Bundle.

The Subscription: The Music Box
The Cost: $10/month for the box, or $5/month for the envelope
The Products: In the Box, you can expect 4-6 items like CD's, posters, stickers, wristbands, t-shirts, etc. In the Envelope, you can expect 1 mixed CD with 10-14 different artists featured.

This is the Envelope, the mixed CD that is an option to be subscribed to monthly itself or can also come in the Bundle (along with the regular box). It has 20 tracks on it and, flipping through them, I really think I like a lot of them. Unfortunately, there’s no track list – not printed on the back, not slid inside the envelope with the CD, and the tracks on the disk are named, either (just “track 1,” track 2,” etc). Sure, I can find the names and artists of all the tracks by spending some time searching online, but I think they should have included a track list.
I do want to point out that this isn’t a Christmas/Holiday CD. I know it’s the December box, but nothing in here is holiday related, like I expected. However, this might actually be a good thing, since I know not everyone celebrates Christmas.

Daylight Broadcast (rock) – 2 full albums, “Action!” and “Home is Where You Make It”
I rather like Daylight Broadcast. Their style definitely fits within something I’d listen to. I’m not in love, but I’m happy to find a new band I like.
Jane Marczewski (singer/songwriter) – 1 full album, “Ocean & Sky”
Andrew Varner (pop/rock) – 1 full album, “Shades of Red”
Both of these albums are actually pretty good! The one by Jane Marzewski is my favorite discovery in the box, though. Singer/Songwriter is my favorite genre, and her style is just what I enjoy listening to quite a bit.
Verdict: All in all, I’m happy with this Music Box. They definitely did a better job at paying attention to my music taste and preferences this time. I liked the envelope/mix CD, too, but I feel like a track list is a really easy and basic thing they should have included. In my October Music Box, I feel like there was a lot more included. Not only were there CD albums, but there were also codes for digital downloads and even some non-music treats thrown in. I’m happy with my December box, but this is a difference I did want to note.
