GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Box

The GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box is a monthly subscription that sends you original crafts by global artisans. Each box contains handcrafted items from around the world and the stories of the artists who made the pieces.

GlobeIn recently changed their format so that there’s only one box variation and each box contains more items and has an overall higher value!

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Shampoo

Shea & Virgin Coconut Enriching Shampoo – 2 oz, value: $2.24

Nobunto Hand-Painted Pillar Candle

This shampoo has lots of great ingredients in it, including rooibos tea and coconut oil! It says it’s designed for curly hair, which definitely isn’t my hair type, but I’m wondering if that matters all that much?

I love this candle – it’s really bright and happily colored. It’s something my mom would really like, so I’m definitely gifting it to her!

GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Tea

Guyaki Yerba Mate tea in Traditional, Greener Green Tea, and Pure Empower Mint – 3 tea bags, value: $1.30 total

Ten Thousand Villages Natural Hemp Washcloth – value: $10

Ten Thousand Villages Dead Sea Mud Soap – value: $9

Guyaki tea is organic and fair trade. I love getting tea in subscription boxes so these are a win for me.

I’ve never used a hemp washcloth but apparently it’s a stronger and more earth-friendly option, so I’ll give it a try!

Verdict: I’m happy with this month’s GlobeIn Artisan Gift box! I know they recently revamped their service, and I have to say that I’m glad with the changes. The items are definitely ones I’ll use. As far as value goes, everything adds up to $22.54 – that’s excluding any value for the candle (since I couldn’t find one online), so I’m guessing that the value actually ends up about breaking even with the cost of the box.

What do you think about GlobeIn?

I went to the outlets last weekend and saw a Ten Thousand Village store. It sounded familiar, but I couldn’t place it. Now I know. I like the shampoo a lot and may order a bottle.

I liked the December box much better. I ended up getting my popsugar box the same time I got this box in the mail Which I pay $10 more for. When ever I get Popsugar the same day as other boxes, any of the other boxes don’t look as good as the popsugar one. I’m glad to see another basket in the box. I like some of the items in this box, but not others. This box does not have a WOWness to me of that the December box had. I hope I will like the Feb box is better.

This box has great items in it. Send the shampoo my way 🙂 I rarely receive hair products for curly/wavy hair. I loved my holiday home box and am watching the reviews.

You never mentioned or factor in the value of the palm leaf basket….

Heidi,

Thank you for pointing this out! Each basket is worth about $8 without the cost of shipping it from Mexico (around $10). It is a part of our signature packaging now but it is also very much a product on its own, handmade by women artisans. We are so happy that you appreciate them as much as we do!

Heidi, you’re right – the basket is included in every box as their standard packaging so it slipped my mind, but it definitely adds some value to the overall box, as well! Sorry about that!

Are you sure? I got the basket in my first box, along with an apron, and there were cards for both the basket and the apron. I never received another basket.
