Tea Box Express Subscription Box Review – December 2014 Tea

Adagio Teas Candy Cane Tea – 15 pyramid tea bags, value: $6

I love to both drink and gift tea, so I was really happy to see this adorable tin of candy cane tea! The packaging is great, I love pyramid tea bags, and Adagio Teas is a brand I know and love.

Tea Box Express Subscription Box Review – December 2014 Brittle

Holly Baking Cookie Brittle in Chocolate Toffee – 6 oz, value: $6.95

These cookies are delicious – they’re a buttery toffee cookie coated in bittersweet chocolate, with toffee bits on top. They’ll go quickly in our house!

Tea Box Express Subscription Box Review – December 2014 Ornament

Wow Baking White Chocolate Cranberry Cookie – 2.75 oz, value: $1.99

Stainless Steel Tea Bag Tongs – value: $6.50?

Teapot Christmas Ornament – value: $3.50

I love that this cookie is all natural and gluten free! Also, it was delicious (past tense, because this was eaten shortly after photos were done being taken!).

These tea tongs are something I don’t already own, and will make steeping the candy cane tea easier (the pyramid tea bags don’t have strings attached). Usually, I’d use a spoon but these will definitely be handy!

Verdict: From the moment I began opening the December Tea Box Express, it felt like a present. The packaging was lovely, and every item goes together so well as part of their Christmas Tea + Cookies theme. As far as value goes, everything adds up to about $25. I love everything in the box, so even though it just about breaks even with the cost of the box, I’m still okay with that value.

What do you think about the December Tea Box Express?

I like the idea about the theme…but not sure what I would do with the quantity…15 tea bags..great, I could have a nice tea party…or maybe a grandkid or two..but the sweets..not enough for a party…or even sharing with your husband…one cookie of this and one little bit of that won’t make me spend + shipping…if it was a theme and enough for 2, 4, or more then maybe…and I don’t need extra tea items…once you have a drawer ful then what do you do with your subscription?

I LOVE this concept. When I first saw the name, I just thought it was just a regular tea sampler, but this is so much better. A well-rounded box, for sure! The ornament is very cute.

As a rabid tea drinker…I think this box isn’t about tea at all. There are other tea boxes that are actually about appreciating tea and giving a variety of tea to enjoy throughout the month. The food items look good, but aren’t about tea to me (chocolate toffee and tea have never been a combo I’ve heard of before).

I was excited to see a new tea box, but until I see that future boxes are actually about tea, not just a kitschy theme…I will save my $25.50.

Speaking as someone who loves tea and enjoys High tea at least once a month, I think this box is a good representation of tea drinking as a lifestyle activity if that makes sense. High tea always includes sweets like these along with the obvious pots of tea. And a teapot ornament is a nice touch in Dec for those who celebrate Christmas. And even those who don’t can still make use of it as decor I suppose. I don’t think they bill themselves a loose tea of the month sub or a tea only box but rather a “tea goodies” sub.

I guess that’s why there are variety of sub boxes. Different tastes. 🙂 Based on this particular box, I don’t have interest. Maybe a future one will excite me.

The packaging is beautiful and reflects the holiday season. I like everything they put in the box and the ornament is perfect. I enjoy reading the review even though I am not a big tea drinker.
