Plum Deluxe Subscription Box Review - October 2014 Box

Plum Deluxe is a monthly tea subscription. Every month, they send you hand-blended teas made from ingredients that are from USDA Organic and Fair Trade certified vendors. They offer two subscription plans: the Casual Sipper (one monthly blend of tea, enough for ~15 cups) and the Daily Cuppa (two monthly blends of tea, enough for ~30 cups). Plum Deluxe also creates custom blends for weddings and special occasions.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Plum Deluxe Subscription Box Review - October 2014 Info

Each delivery includes an informational card describing their monthly blend and providing brewing instructions. This month, they detail their Harvest Chai tea. Apparently, chai tea usually includes black tea (which has caffeine), but they made their blend with rooibos tea, so it’s caffeine-free.

Plum Deluxe Teas

Harvest Chai tea – ingredients: ginger root, cinnamon bark, red rooibos tea, cardamom, clove, nutmeg, vanilla beans

Autumn Glow tea – ingredients: apples, cinnamon, raspberries, rose hips, hibiscus flowers, licorice

Both of these teas are delicious! I love the Harvest Chai especially – the spices and ginger and vanilla all come together so nicely. I also really like the floral aspects of the Autumn glow – I can definitely smell the rose hips, hibiscus, and the licorice, too.

Verdict: I really enjoyed the October delivery of Plum Deluxe. I love knowing that these teas are organic and fair trade, and also that I’m supporting a small business. The packaging is really nice – the hand-stamped pouch is such a nice touch and I appreciate that they put a short description and all the ingredients on each pouch. I think all this would also make it a great gift for a friend!

I’m from the South. For me, this means that “tea” should come sweet and cold. But then I met Plum Deluxe. And they have made a hot-tea-lover out of me! The teas SMELL divine, but the taste is so smooth and well-blended that I have to say that this is the most amazing tea I’ve ever had. I will proudly announce to anyone who asks (and many who don’t) that Plum Deluxe tea is hands-down, my favorite tea. And that it’s organic, fair-trade, and supporting a small business? Bonus! 🙂

Thanks! Ordered some chocolate chai to try from them before I decide if I want to go the subscription route. Tea is my new crack.

I have to say I don’t say this about to many subscriptions, but this is the most overpriced box! I can go to Tevana and get tea for half at price and make up my own blend as I’ve done many times! This is a big ripoff!

Food Babe had once article about tea and Tevana is really, really bad… It has very high level of pesticides and there were much more information I don’t remember now. But it made me not to buy from them anymore.
