GlossyBox Holiday 2014 Box Review & Giveaway!
GlossyBox releases a limited edition Holiday box every year, and I think it makes a great gift. (The red packaging on the box is even a velvet-type material!)
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
FYI – I also bought a Holiday Box, and it shipped as of yesterday. I’m going to give it away to one lucky reader. You can enter the giveaway at the end of the post!
More wonderful packaging shots! Unlike the typical GlossyBox, the lid flips open instead of lifting off.

NCLA Nail Polish in Satin Sheets, Velvet Ropes – FULL SIZE! Value $16
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Loose Colour Concentrates in Smote – FULL SIZE! Value $14
This NCLA nail polish is a very festive red, with a micro shimmer. I have a lot of red nail polishes right now thanks to subscription boxes, but I think this is a very appropriate addition to the box.
Based on my experience with other OCC makeup I was expecting this eye shadow to be highly-pigmented, but it surprisingly applied somewhat sheer. That’s fine with me, and I really like this interesting pink/grey/brown shimmery color!
The Lip Bar Lipstick in Crimson Wonderland – FULL SIZE! Value $25
Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Wind – FULL SIZE! Value $20
FYI – The Crimson Wonderland lipstick shown on the Lip Bar site has a gold lipstick container, and all the other lipsticks have the black lipstick tube shown here, and retail for $20, so I’d say this lipstick is a $20 value. I can’t rock a bold red, so I think I’ll be passing this along to a friend.
This Jouer Lip Gloss has a somewhat creamy finish – not as glossy as I expected. It’s very natural looking, and just like the name says – moisturizing!
Cargo Texas Liner Liquid Eye Liner – FULL SIZE! Value $20
Korres Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara – FULL SIZE! Value $20
I ended up loving both of these products. The stubby stick of this liquid eyeliner marker made it pretty easy to apply, and this mascara is one of my new favorites – it adds a lot of volume without sacrificing lash separation! I recommend both, but the mascara is definitely my favorite discovery in the box.
Teadora Nourishing Lip Butter – FULL SIZE! Value $15
This lip butter has a wonderful natural orange scent. I know it is made for lips, but I like it best for my cuticles!
Calvin Klein REVEAL – .5 oz Value $30
Considering the .33 oz rollerball version of this scent is $24, I think a $30 value is a fair estimate on this perfume. I’m not in love with this scent – but I don’t mind it either.
Verdict: With the exception of the perfume and red lipstick, I love every item in this box! For a $40 box, I think it’s amazing that it has a value of over $150, with every item being full-sized. What do you think of the Holiday 2014 GlossyBox?
