For the Makers DIY Subscription Box Review – Dec 2014 Box

For the Makers is a monthly DIY subscription box centered around jewelry. (There’s usually at least one non-jewelry project too).

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Full Moon Bracelet

Supernova Earrings

Here’s how my earrings and bracelet turned out! I love these earrings. It doesn’t show well in the photo, but the gems on the earrings are a very pale blue. I like the bracelet in the tutorial, but unfortunately I just couldn’t get all the knots right – or at least not quite in the right place/direction as they needed to be. I wish they had included short videos in the tutorial for tying the knots because it was pretty hard to tell exactly how things were supposed to go just by text and a photo.

Stellar Embroidery

This is probably my favorite project in the box this month, but I don’t really know what to do with it (maybe I’ll find a place for it by my jewelry space in my bedroom). I like sewing, stars, and glitter, and this project had a little bit of all of them!

Night Sky Magnets

These magnets are way prettier than any on my fridge right now, so I will definitely use them.

Verdict: I really enjoyed the December For the Makers box! There wasn’t an awful lot of challenge in the level of difficulty, though, which I think made me put off doing the projects less than when the box seems super intimidating. I also think everything fits my style well and I know I’ll get use out of the items.

What do you think about the December For the Makers box?

I’m on their email list and reading the review makes me wish I bought the box. I enjoy seeing the finished products. I’m taking a break from buying craft boxes until I catch up on the ones that I have. I bought extras from the Black Friday sales and need to do them!
