BarkBox Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Dec 2014 Box

BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. It’s one of our favorite subscription boxes – our dog loves it, and we’ve gifted it to dogs in our extended family as well!

BarkBox customizes your box to your dog’s size. For reference, this review is for the small size (our dog weighs 14 pounds)

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

BarkBox Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Dec 2014 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.

BarkBox Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Dec 2014 Elf

Henrik the Elf Toy – Value $7

Simply Fido Penguin with Crinkle Paper Body – Value $12

I may be admitting too much here – but we love putting together our dog’s stocking each year, and these toys will be perfect additions! (I hope I’m not the only one with a pet stocking?)

BarkBox Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Dec 2014 Treats

Polka Dog Treats in Lucky Duck – Value $6

Butcher’s Block Pet Treats – Value $2

Our dog rejected the Polka Dog Treats, but loves the Butcher’s Block chew. (I was expecting him to like the Duck flavored treats, but they are pretty hard, so that may be why he wasn’t interested).

BarkBox Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Dec 2014 Bandana

Safemade Holiday Tartan Bandana – Value $5

Sadly this adorable bandana is a little too tight for Buckles, he probably could have used one size up.

Verdict: I think this is such a cute holiday themed Barkbox! The value is about $32, and they always include quality items and made-in-the-USA dog treats, so I’m happy with the box.

What did your pup think of the December Barkbox?

  1. FYI i tried to use the coupon code above and it wont work on a single box and it wont work on a one month subscription box. looks like you have to order a longer term for it to work. too bad i was going to give a box as a gift and 2 would be nice for $35.

  2. Our little Frenchie simply adored everything in his first BarkBox. He’s on a very specific diet, and the folks at BarkBox gladly accommodated and sent an “Allergy Specific” box so that he could enjoy everything in it!

Outside of his giggling reindeer, the PolkaDogs are his favorite and have been helping us perfect the “wait” command.

  3. Our pups have a stocking and get wrapped presents! 🙂 I really love Barkbox. Such high quality toys and treats. We received a different toys (red frog and green Christmas bulb) in our box and found the bandanna to be too small for our mini poodle. Really cute, though.

  4. Liz, not only does my dog have a stocking, but my mom actually NEEDLEPOINTED a beautiful stocking for her granddog. It’s hanging on the mantle right now! 🙂

  5. Liz,
I have 2 pet stockings, one for dog and other for daughters guinea pig. You are not the only one. Happy Holidays.

  6. I have to say, I really loved this box. The only downside was that they accidentally (I assume) sent me the 6 inch beef trachea instead of the smaller one, and it was too big for my Shih-tzu to chew. I emailed them and received a really quick reply! The bone itself is only worth $2 but they gave me a code for Barkshop for $15 and free shipping to spend on replacement items! Talk about great customer service!

  7. I get the large dog box and was very happy this month. I got a big version of the Elf, his arms/legs are one piece so they can be adjusted. A big heavy duty Yuletide log that has a long squeaker in it, it is corduroy, very cute. Bocce’s Bakery Lumps of Coal, heart shaped biscuits that are black! My dog loves them. My Doggy Happy Holidays treats, these look great but the 2nd ingredient is honey and my dog is diabetic. They are going to my sisters puppy for Christmas. Last item is the bandana, very cute where it is reversible. Will definitely get worn, what a fun and unexpected item!

  8. I subscribe to the medium size and large heavy chewer. I really liked both boxes

  9. My pup has a stocking and he also gets wrapped presents too!

  10. Well, this (partly) is pointless for me–according to tracking it won’t be delivered until Friday, AFTER Xmas. We just got a dog and are taking him to meet family for the first time. Would’ve been fun to have the bandana… 🙁

I’m getting three months of PetBox and three of BarkBox and will then decide which we want to continue. Points to PetBox, which arrived already last Friday… Negatives pts to BarkBox for an Xmas themed box arriving after Xmas…

  11. Such a fun box! My little guy loved the toys, especially the little elf. He shared (nicely) the Butcher’s Block Pet Treats with his oversized friend. The little Polkadogs are a hit as well. I think Barkbox always does a great job with variety, and keeps me from buying extra toys and treats at the (expensive) pet food shop we buy their food from (BONUS!). If anyone out there is wondering if Barkbox is worth it, I’d say yes!

  12. My box is still stuck in Compton!! It’ll b the second “lost” box this month

  13. You could make a bow or snazzy knot on his collar with the small bandana!

  14. We have 4 mini Doxies and they always have stockings!! They even have their own ornaments on the tree that have their name on them. Our kids are grown with families of their own, so our fur babies are our kids now!
