Yuzen Beauty Subscription Box Review – Winter 2014
Yuzen is one of the original eco subscription boxes. It’s a mix of spa, beauty and the occasional food item, and everything is made with natural ingredients. (It’s one of those boxes that smells amazing even before you open it!)
Yuzen kindly sent me this box for review purposes.
The Subscription Box: Yuzen
The Cost: $33 a quarter
The Products: Eco-friendly products to nourish the body and soul.
Ships to: US only.
Each box comes with a fold out card that details the items and brands featured. On each item they also let you know why they chose it for the box. (As far as card info goes in subscriptions boxes – I think this is one of the best)
Dark Chocolate Covered Cocomels – Value $2
Salus Shower Bombs in Eucalyptus and Lemongrass – Value $4.50 total
I originally was hoping these shower bombs were some other kind of delicious vegan chocolate, but it’s probably for the best that they aren’t since I pretty much inhaled these Dark Chocolate Cocomels! These showerbombs are wonderful though. I’m used to only menthol/eucalyptus showerbombs, so this lemongrass scent was a nice change. You just let the water hit it a little, then the rest of your shower is citrus scented!
Acure Brightening Facial Scrub – 1 oz Value $3.75
ZENTS Ultra Rich Shea Butter Soap in Mandarin – Value $12
This Mandarin soap might be my favorite scent in the box – it’s the perfect combination of sweet and citrus. (And I’ve used this cleaner before and love it so this travel size is a win for me!)
Essence of Vali Sleep – .02 oz Value $2
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Cream – 5 ml Value $13
Cowgirl Extreme C Serum 10 ml? (no size marked on bottle) Value $24
This eye cream is very light, absorbs quickly, and has a rose/floral scent. I can’t do any product that is heavily rose-scented – but this one works for me. The cowgirl serum is good size so I’m excited to use it up (I estimated on the size/value).
Verdict: This box has a value of approximately $61. I will use every single item in this box – so it’s a great value for me. If I could change anything I would have liked to see them include an item that felt fitting for winter/holiday, but really no complaints!
