The Boodle Box Subscription Box Review – November 2014 Info

This is a review of the Boodle One Box (for ages 5-10). This month, the theme is “Fabulous Fall Fun.”

Every box comes with an informational card detailing the featured items.

The Boodle Box Subscription Box Review – November 2014 Brush

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo & Conditioner – 1.7 oz each, value: $2

EcoTools Hair Brush – value: $8.99

Personally, I’m not sure how excited I would have been about either of these items when I was 5-10 years old, but I’m excited to have them now so they’re still a win for me.

The Boodle Box Subscription Box Review – November 2014 Owl

Double Flower Pony Barette – value: $10?

Sweet & Soft Owl Hand Cream – .61 oz, value: $8

I think $10 for one hair tie is a little off – maybe for a set of them, but I don’t think that’s an accurate value for one. However, this owl hand cream is totally adorable!

The Boodle Box Subscription Box Review – November 2014 Straws

Studded Leather Wrap Bracelet – value: $13.95

Chocolate-Covered Sunflower Seeds – 3 oz, value: $2.97

Paper Straws – value: $3.99

This studded leather bracelet is cute, but I found that you can buy it for just $8.99 on Boodle Box’s shop.

Here’s a better photo of the bracelet (and the cute owl box it came packaged in).

Verdict: All in all, I’m happy with this month’s Boodle Box One. I’m not sure I would have expected this curation of items for a 5-10 year old, but they’re still nice things for a young girl. In total, the curation comes out to just under $50 which is a great value – and, I have to say, is also typical for Boodle Box!

For anyone reading the review & comments to decide if they want to get this box, I just had an issue with my billing, and their customer service couldn’t have been better. Prompt, courteous and resolved very quickly. This, in addition to my daughter really liking the box she gets every month.

My 11 year old gets the Boodle Two box. This is her second box and so far we’ve loved both of them! Big fans here!

My daughter is 5 (6 in a few months) and was most excited about the hair brush! She also love the trial size shampoo and conditioner (which surprised me also). She can also wear the bracelet as a belt. The lotion is absolutely amazing and leaves your hands so soft! We love these sunflower seeds and it is always a treat when we get them, so she grabbed these right away and said “these are all mine and no one else can have any unless I say so” and hid them right away lol. She actually really liked the flower (I figured the colors would be a miss for her) and I think it fit perfectly into a fall box since it was fall colors. This box is always a hit with her and I feel like the curation is always well thought out and beautifully presented.

My girls both get Boodle boxes, my 8 year old got this box…. And she LOVED it… She was actually very excited about both the brush and the shampoo and conditioners. She has seen my travel size items and was super excited to have some to put in her overnight bag. The brush she also really liked.. She is at the age where she likes to do not only her dolls hair but also practice on her older sister as well. The sunflower seeds were a big hit with both girls … They both got them… And the hand lotion was also very exciting. A couple of months back her sister got a cupcake shaped lotion in the boodle box two… And she was really excited to get her own “cute lotion” they both liked the bracelet… My youngest can actually wear it as a belt also…the straws were fun fall colors but not super exciting to them as their mother is very well equipped for holidays and we have these in just about every color/pattern available so they weren’t a novelty to them. The ponytail holder is very pretty, and it is handmade using a Japanese technique (and they are very expensive… Even for one) it is too large for my daughter to really use in her hair… So I thought that was probably a fail for her from the box… However she came out yesterday wearing it on her wrist like a corsage and was very happy about it…maybe not everything was specifically fall themed but it made one 8 year old pretty happy and the value for my dollar is definately there! My ten year old got boot cuffs in her box instead of the lotion and she just loves them!

I think this box might not be geared to the 5-10 age range. When I was a kid, I’d have loved the flower hair accessory, and maybe the owl lotion, but the rest would have been a miss for me. As far as season alpropriate (fall vs. spring), I don’t think I would have cared.

I got the sunflower seeds in the teen boodle box, they are yummy. The coconut shampoo and conditioner seem weird to me in a fall box. The eco tools brush is great. The boodle box is my favorite kid box, yet the curation could have been better and more fall. The box seems like it is more spring/late spring. Especially with the flower barette.
