Scentbird is a monthly perfume sampling subscription box. When you sign up, you take a preferences quiz to help them suggest recommendations for you to try, and you can also go browse and rate the rest of their selection to make the recommendations even more accurate. You can build a queue of fragrances you’d like to try or you can let yourself be surprised every month.

With your first month’s delivery, you receive a perfume case that fits your 8 ml sprays inside – this card details how to use it!
This is the purse spray you get with your first month, with the sample vial inside. This month I tried Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million fragrance, which is very floral but balanced with base notes of patchouli and amber (I like it a lot!). A 10 ml rollerball of this fragrance sells for $20, so this 8 ml spray is worth about $16. The sample size Scentbird sends is enough for a month of use, with two applications a day.
I really have to say that this is what makes this subscription for me. The case is has a nice weight, is sleek, and feels high quality. This photo shows the purse spray open – to open it, you just twist it. Twist again to lower the spray completely down into the case to keep it safe in your purse. To switch perfumes, you just open the case, pull the vial out, and place the next one inside.
My other favorite thing about this subscription is their selection. They don’t seem to carry super new, recently-released fragrances, but they have a huge amount of really great brands and options to choose from.
The perfume vial is a really nice size (like I mentioned, just shy the size of a rollerball), and I love the idea of collecting many of these sample perfumes and being able to swap them out daily depending on my mood.
The Verdict: I absolutely love Scentbird. I’ve recently become very interested in fragrances and perfumes, and for less than $15, I can get almost a rollerball-full to try. The individual vials are nice enough that I can pass them along to friends if a scent isn’t for me and they still get a really nice little gift. Scentbird offers brands and scents I recognize and want to try, and their user interface and recommendation process is very easy to use. All in all, I’m really happy with this sub!
