  1. I got my box last night and haven’t had a chance to go through everything. I grabbed the Obasan catalog and gift card to take to work, though. (Thought I’d do pillow shopping at lunch). BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. When you read the back of the card, it is only redeemable at CANADIAN boutiques, and is only good if you spend $1000 first. Insane, and a complete waste. Never again, Eco Salon.

    • Oh no! I got my box last week but haven’t looked at the discount yet. I think we should email eco salon because that is not a gift card it’s a discount and one we can’t use if you live in the US

  2. I keep missing out on these. I wish they had more boxes to offer. bummer πŸ™

  3. It isn’t that I turned her comment upside down, I just do not appreciate being attacked for my beliefs. It’s sad.

    • Again… I said that the GC’s would require spending extra (a lot extra) money.

Last year I bought the winter box and got a 100 or so gift card and I couldn’t even get a tee shirt with that. You would think a high value GC would get you at least something. I was stunned that it didn’t.

How that attacks you… is beyond me.

    • Sarah, if you thought I was attacking you, then I am sorry. I do not eat meat… I grow my own herbs, fruits, and veggies. I try to be very earth friendly.
I am glad for the heads up about the gift cards. I have a family of five. I am a stay at home mom because I have to be. So I am always on a budget as well. If I had gotten this box and then realized that I couldn’t use the gift card without spending $100.00 to $200.00 more. I would have been very upset with myself. This is a great box… but you do have to look at the gift cards to see if it is a good value for you. Each person is different.
If I made you feel bad with my post, I am sorry. You are suppose to replace your pillow every year. πŸ™‚ You don’t have to…. that is up to you. I was being silly in my post. No one said you were wrong… No one attacked you. But if you feel that I did… I am sorry.

  4. They have a $100.00 giftcard included in the value and after looking at the website, the only thing you can get without spending money (and that’s only if shipping is free)is an infants mattress fitted sheet :/

Also the 50.00 GC they include in the value will only get you one shoe if you’re lucky and wear a size 5 lol most shoes are over 200.00

I sound like a Debbie Downer but I am only bringing it up because I bought one of these boxes and was not able to use any of the GC’s in it because it would have cost so much extra $.

    • I buy every box they and their sister site sell. I saw that you have to spend money to use two of the Giftcards, but I don’t mind because I can still get an amazing pillow for about $40 and new vegan shoes, bc as a vegan it’s really hard to find great shoes that aren’t cheap and poorly made. I’m really excited about this box, as I am every time they release one. I think the thing is that their target audience is very niche. I consider myself their target audience, and I live a vegan lifestyle, am extremely socially and ecologically conscious, and I don’t believe in fast fashion or throw away purchases. That very expensive pillow will last me years, and I’d rather have that then ten from Target. Everyday I use products from these boxes. In comparison, I can’t buy the Birchbox holiday LEs, Popsugar boxes, or Net-a-porter, bc their products aren’t vegan or health conscious. I’m just grateful that I have an option with these. πŸ™‚

      • what is the sister site?

        • The sister site in organic authority

      • PS Totally not holier than thou, lol, and I know my views are a bit different. πŸ™‚

        • you are meant to replace your pillow every year. πŸ™‚ Me being all holier than thou! ;p I cant do it. My husband would end up stealing my pillow and I would have to kill him. “But judge, feel this pillow.” lol I missed out on the last one with the nice shoes…. Thought I went through all the steps…. realized that I didn’t hit the last button at the end and an hour later when I realized that I didn’t hit confirm it was sold out.. sigh… But I love my husband enough not to buy this one. Love only goes so far when a comfy pillow is involved. What is the sister site Sarah?

      • Well said. I agree it’s a niche market. They have a big following, so, I’m sure they will sell itself.

      • I agree with you that this is def for a target audience. I tried one and liked most of the products but thought people should know that to use the giftcards will cost them a significant amount of money.

I really don’t appreciate people that live a vegan lifestyle making those of us that don’t feel bad about it. Just because something isn’t vegan doesn’t make it fast fashion or throw away.

        • Also, I must have been typing my response as you typed yours.. it did sound to me like a holier than thou response

          • I totally wasn’t trying to make anyone feel bad, it actually sucks being Vegan. Lol. That vegan casserole cookbook is a freaking lifesaver. Can’t wait for that. πŸ™‚
Fast fashion isn’t a vegan issue, it’s an ecological one. One of their two sites wrote an interesting article about it, and the effect on the environment. I’d never put anyone down for not being like me, I am how I am, and everyone is different and I totally respect that.

    • Sarah I took your response to be that you are passionate about the box. I knew it would be a big hit with some as soon as I saw the Vegan cookbook. Enjoy your box πŸ™‚ I’m glad you found something that you can use and enjoy.

      • I shouldn’t have opened my mouth to begin with, I was just saying that some ppl will find value in the gift cards even if they need to pay money. Wanted to stick up for the box.
I feel terrible, I usually don’t share my views like that because so many disagree with me.
I’m young, single, and I live in a very expensive city. I’m always on a super tight budget. These boxes help me explore brands I normally wouldn’t be able to.

        • I dont know how my initial comment turned into all this.. I just know a lot of bloggers that do not count the value of gift cards unless you can purchase without spending money.
To use these would require a minimum of about 200.00.. That is a lot of money so I thought I was helping out by letting people considering purchasing know that. I think the box is wonderful besides that. The comment had nothing to do with anyone’s personal decisions on anything.

          • You were helping out! It’s always useful to know how much money it might cost to use a gift card.

          • Thank you Barbie for letting us know about the gift cards <3, and I agree with you I don't know how in the Heck you first comment got turned upside down. Smh!!

    • I appreciate the information regarding the gift cards, that is extremely relevant to my purchasing decision, and I imagine others are grateful to you as well!

  5. Sooo happy I was able to snatch this up, they changed it so you can buy on an iPhone! I missed the last couple because you couldn’t before!

  6. Lots of good items. I’m going to pass since I am attending a conference/mini vacation this month.
