Target Beauty Box Review - October 2014 Box

The Target Beauty Box is a one-time-purchase box. It’s available a few times a year and usually a great value. This particular box is still avaliable for purchase if you are interested!

Target Beauty Box Review - October 2014 Info

This box came with a fold out card detailing the items included and a $3 off $15 beauty purchase at Target!

Target Beauty Box Review - October 2014 NYX

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk – FULL SIZE! Value $4.49

LOréal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lipstick in Nude Ballet – FULL SIZE! Value $8

Both of these items are hits for me. This NYX eye pencil is highly pigmented, so you can get a bold white look, or blend it for a more subtle highlight. And this lipstick is probably my favorite item in the box – it goes on so silky and the shade is very flattering.

Target Beauty Box Review - October 2014 Samples

Laneige BB Cushion Sample – .21 oz total Value about $5

I’m saying the value of this sample is of one BB cream, not all three, because each one is a different skin tone color. (Even though they sent three options, I can only use one!)

I’ve tried this BB cream before, and while I like the formula and color, I’m not a fan of the perfumed scent. On the plus side I’m happy to see Target send out a BB cream in every shade it comes in – I hate it when subscription boxes send the exactly same skin tone specific item to all subscribers – all subscribers do not have the same skin tone!

Target Beauty Box Review - October 2014 Dry Shampoo

Fekkai Professional Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo – 1.7 oz Value $8

Elnett Extra Strong Hold Hairspray – 2.2 oz Value $6.69

I was happy to see that these are both good sized travel versions of each product!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $32. I think that’s an incredible value for the $7 cost, and I’m really impressed with the sizes of the products they included. (And I’ll always use a Target coupon!)

  1. I never seem to be fast enough to grab one. Does anyone know like around what time is it up for grabs or is it just random? Do you need to purchase one every single time or does it auto renew?

  2. I ordered 3! The travel size dry shampoos and hairspray are more than worth it! I also grabbed a couple of the college boxes for $5 each, but they just shipped yesterday.

  3. My box came!

I got nude ballet – at first I was bummed because I usually wear pinks – but this is very flattering and gives a nice shine

Very pleased – $8 value – so everything else in my box (which I will try/use) is FREE

The coupon will be used the next time I go to target for a pixi purchase I have been wanting to make for a while now – so by taking $3 off the box price, it’s a fantastic deal! 😀

  4. Did anybody else get the lip gloss with a “not for resale” sticker on it? I’ve never received anything in a box that had that. I’m a little leery to use it for that reason. I like everything else in the box though.

    • Mine had that as well. I’ve received stickers on a few items in subscription boxes before and I think it is fine – it may be so no one can return it to a store?

    • Yup, mine had that too. I’ve used it and I love it!

  5. That Elnett hairspray is fab and that size usually costs more than this entire box, so I’m happy. The rest is just a bonus as far as I’m concerned.

The white eye pencil befuddled me until I saw someone use it to highlight the area above and below her brows on YouTube. It blends beautifully and doesn’t look as white once it’s applied on skin. It also helps open up the eye when used on the inner corners. Win! I would have never tried it if it weren’t for this box. Now it’s a staple.

My only criticism is that my lip gloss smells a little too much like paint or something. In fact, I had a moment of horror that it was actually nail polish when I first applied it. It’s not my thing, but maybe my mom or sister-in-law will like it.

    • The NYX eye crayon is an awesome product! You can also use it under eye shadow to make the colors REALLY pop! The Milk color is almost always sold out at my Target, so I was soooo glad to see it in the box.

      • How do you sharpen the pencil? It feels like plastic…

  6. I got mine on October 16. For $7 shipped it’s a good deal.

  7. I got the exact same box as Liz. The lip gloss is so smooth and the nude color is very flattering. I loved this fekkai dry shampoo. I’ve been trying different dry shampoos for years and I think this is the first product that actually does something to my hair! It actually gave me fresh hair with added volume. This was a real winner for me. Couldn’t use any of the BB creams, the formula felt really greasy.

  8. Just a note about the Laneige BB cream: Target didn’t choose to send out a variety of shades; that’s how all of the Laneige cushion samples are made. I’ve gotten it three times now in sub boxes, and it was the same version as this each time. Ditto for in store samples (they had them when Target first began carrying the brand). So credit for the variety should go to Laneige 😉

  9. This was my first time actually getting the Target box, and I was ordering it hit submit and then it said page error and made me go through the checkout again. So I ended up getting charged twice and got two boxes, not super thrilled with it, but it was only $14. I loved the lipgloss in one vs the other, one was a nice red color and the other kinda pink. The last Target box looked awesome, this one was just alright.

    • You can return the box. They have a very easy return policy listed next to the item when you buy it.

    • Same thing happened to me! I ended up giving one to my future daughter-in-law but now that I know there were more than one color of the lipstick, I might have taken a peek.

  10. Can anyone tell me if shipping is supposed to be free and if so, how do you get it? I see this review lists the price at just $7 (and shipping is usually mentioned) and in the description of the product on’s webpage it says “Due to wanting to get you the best price, we’ll pay to ship it to you, but please allow up to two weeks for delivery”. However, when I go to order it, I’m being charged over $5 for delivery. I don’t think I want it if it’s going to be $13 instead of $7. Thank you for any help!

    • Never mind! It’s working right this morning so maybe they fixed it?

      • Victoria, I’m so glad you commented! I tried to get this the other day, but the shipping costs very nearly doubled the cost of the box so I cancelled the order. I just tried the order again today and it’s $7 plus tax. Score!

  11. Absolutely thrilled with this box! So happy I ordered 2. Outstanding value. These arrived the same day as my WalMart beauty box and while that’s a good value, too, the Target version is just a step above.

    • Where did you find a walmart beauty box?

  12. Ordered my box on the 6th, CC posted on the 11th, still no box and no shipping email 🙁

Did anyone get their box without a shipping email?

    • I just checked my email. I have an order confirmation email on the 6th and a shipping email on the 11th.

      • I never even received a confirmation email 🙁

Maybe Monday – the site said to give it up to 2 weeks

    • My box arrived the same day the shipping email did! You can always go on to check

      • I did a guest checkout since I don’t usually shop on

    • I did guest checkout too & never received a shipping email and just received my boxes.

      • Maybe you only get emails if you have an account? Did you receive a confirmation email?

        • I take that back. I just double checked and I DID receive a “shipped” email from a Target on Monday and received my box on Friday even though I did guest check out.

          • Maybe it’s just me 🙁

My friend did an order via guest check out and also received both a confirmation and shipping email.

  13. I use the milk pencil as an eyeshadow base. Just put it al over the lid blend it out a bit and put your shadow over it. Makes it stay on forever!

    • Thanks for the suggestion. I was trying to figure out what to do with the white eye pencil!

      • You can line the inside of your eyes with it too, for some extra pop!

  14. Got my box yesterday and it was quick compared to the first one I got back in the summer. I love this box! Every item I can use and it was of great value! Target did good!!!!! I don’t mind getting boxes like this and I think I’d order more if all came as good as this one did!

  15. Just got my box yesterday and loved everything in it.
