Wet Shave Club is a monthly grooming subscription box company. Each monthly box contains razors, wet shave soaps, aftershaves, styptic matches, and “mystery items.” Everyone’s first month’s box also includes a double-edge razor and brush so you have what you need if you’re new to wet shaving.

Wet Shave Club sent us this box for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

This box didn’t come with a card with information about the products, but it did have very thorough steps to help you if you’ve never wet-shaved before!

Wet Shave Club Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Red Leaf

Forge & Foundry Witch Hazel Aftershave in Bay Rum – 1 oz?, value: $3.5

Red Leaf Soap Shave Cube in “Oatmeal, Milk, and Honey” – 1.5 oz, value: $2.25

Red Leaf Soap Shave Cube in “English Coast” – 1.5 oz, value: $2.25

Wet Shave Brush

I love the red leaf brand, and these scents smell great! The Forge & Foundry is a new brand to us, though.

Wet Shave Club Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Razor

Gilette Wet Shave Blades

Wet Shave Club Wet Shave Razor + cover

The Legends London Alum Matches – 20 matches, value: $2.84

I was impressed with the weight and quality of this razor! It’s very sturdy and the leather cover is high-quality, too.

These alum matchsticks help stop bleeding and provide disinfectant for cuts. You wet them a little bit and place them on the cut and they’re supposed to help. How handy! I know my husband will appreciate having these around instead of walking around with toilet paper all over his face.

Verdict: Neither my husband nor I are familiar at all with wet shaving for men or what it entails, but I definitely think this Wet Shave Club kit offers great products and instruction for beginners! The items all seem pretty good quality and I’m glad they include such a thorough instruction set in the box.

Do you know anything about wet shaving? What did you think of this Wet Shave box?

I’ve worked with the Wet Shave Club subscription boxes a few times. They are great people and I think they put together some great boxes. Thanks for your review Haley. I’ve been meaning to post here forever to say that, sorry for the delayed response!

I signed up and received the Ladies version of this box – from the reviews I have read, the ladies box is relatively new. While my first box came with the standard items (razor, brush, etc.) I have not heard of any of the products they are offering for the second box despite me asking. The website is very male dominated which is annoying since they are branching out to ladies. I’m expecting my second box and will decide at that time if I wish to continue on with this subscription. They should offer the option of bi-monthly and quarterly shipments.

Interesting,…but is there an option for every other month or every 3 months? I would consider for my boys but both are blond and only shave about 1x/ week.

Brooke, at this time it doesn’t look as if Wet Shave Club offers subscription plans other than monthly.

Thanks Haley!
