iBBeautiful Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Card

Each box includes informational cards detailing the theme and products for the month. This month’s theme is “New Beginnings.”

iBBeautiful Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Socks

Dotty Duck Lip Balm in Tutti Frutti – .053 oz, value: $5

Snifty Pencil – value: $1.50?

Beauty Junky Strawberry Gel Mask – .5 fl oz, value: $2.18?

“Lace-up” socks – value: $8?

Both the face mask and the pencil were listed as $3 on the info card, but from looking online, it doesn’t look like either are actually valued quite that high. Also, I think $8 is a really high estimate for one pair of kids’ socks. That being said, I think these items are cute, and a strawberry-scented mask is definitely something I would have been interested in when I was a pre-teen!

iBBeautiful Subscription Box Review - September 2014 1

UPDATE (From Liz) – This purse should not have been included in the box. After reaching out to iBbeautiful they let us know that they included this in the box to show a different box variation and let us pick which to review. We never got that communication prior to reaching out – after the review was posted.

Anytime a box company asks to send us a box to review we explicitly state that we only will review the same box a paying customer would receive. Reviewing a “blogger box” is misleading and not helpful at all in showing you what you can expect from a subscription box. I’m sorry this review went up with incorrect information.

Multi-strand leather bracelet – value: $14

NYC Subway Line pouch – value: $22

I think these two items are nice quality, and I think it’s sweet that the bag was included as a reminder that “every new beginning starts at square 1” (from the info card). I couldn’t find this exact pouch online, but here’s the website of the brand listed on the tag.

“This is the Beginning” T-Shirt – value $22

The Verdict:

UPDATE (From Liz) – Please disregard this value estimation given that the purse should not have been included in this box. (see above).

The total estimated value for this month’s iBBeautiful box is just under $75 with my adjusted values for the mask and pencil, and it costs $28. I’m definitely happy with that value! My favorite thing about this box is its vision to encourage and empower tween and teen girls to be confident and happy being exactly who they naturally are! It’s a great message, and I know I definitely would have loved a box like this when I was younger.

What do you think of the iBBeautiful box? Do you have a daughter or niece that you think would love it?

  1. I’m confused most of these reviews seem really old… my tween daughter and teen little sister absolutely love the current boxes we received earlier this month! What a great company as a mother in a Kardashian world I LOVE THE MESSAGE IBbeautiful is given all young girls!!!! They are beautiful just as they are! Thank you!

  2. I feel like it takes forvever to get these boxes and I wonder about their business model. I paid for a box 6 weeks ago , which has been “shipped”, but don’t yet have and they are already billing me for the next box. Their shipping speed is just far too slow for this day and age. I have had the box in the past and liked the products, but in these days of fast free shipping , 6-7 weeks is far too long to wait.

    • Terry did this improve? I have literally been deciding for weeks which subscription box to choose for my daughter. I landed on ibBeautiful only to find out AFTER they took my payment the first box won’t ship until the end of April. My next payment is already scheduled for April 21 though? Feels like extortion. I already sent my cancellation email.

    • Hi Terry,
Since our boxes are curated each month to a specific theme we have to have a cut off on the 15th of each month in order to get our counts, pack the boxes, and get them shipped during the last week of each month. We are no different than any other monthly subscription model. This is clearly spelled out not only on our site but in the two separate emails you receive after placing your order.

Additionally, in the welcome letter that you receive we also reach out to you to tell you that if this shipping schedule does not fit your needs to make sure to contact us so that we can get you what you need.

If someone were to place their order on the 15th of the month they would get their first box shipped within those first few weeks. We also offer a one time box where the boxes are shipped out right away. We offer this for people who missed the cut off but need a box earlier than the normal monthly flow of our boxes.

Most importantly, we are here to help in any way, because our one goal here besides offering a box of inspiration for young girls is to make sure you and your recipient are happy.

As far as the billing goes, if you sign up for the month to month option, your credit card is charged each month on the same day that you originally signed up. Since the month to month boxes are shipped out the last week of each month, sometimes depending on when you signed up there can be a second charge before you receive that first box. This is also clearly laid out in the welcome letter you received. Again, this is not a factor of anything other than the sign up date and it all evens out at the end of your subscription because on that month you would not be charged yet you would still receive a box.

Here is my personal email and I strongly encourage you to please contact us with any questions. We’re real people here who truly care about your experience with us and by emailing us we are able to address any and all concerns you may have. Here is the email address……cindy@ibbeautiful.com

  3. I received the September tween box and it had an extra bracelet (the black multi-strand bracelet pictured in your review). We did receive the red purse, except ours was more like a traditional coin purse, but with the same cute design and a chain.

  4. I have seen two other reviews for the teen box this month and they were both the same. I don’t understand why MySubscriptionAddiction got an extra bag, when other boxes didn’t? I was going to subscribe, but I am second guessing my decision. I don’t like it when bloggers get better boxes than the rest of us.

    • Hi Jan,

We specifically request to only receive the same box a paying customer would receive. I’m going to look into this asap.

    • Hi Jan,

I’m so sorry this review went up with the incorrect information. After reading your comment I reached out to iBbeautiful to figure out what happened. They sent us both box versions without letting us know beforehand. I’ve updated the review to properly document what happened and the correct version of the box.

    • I think most bloggers hate that too!

      • As the owner of iBbeautiful I’d just like to clarify that it was never our intent to show more items that what we include in our boxes. We offer a basic box and a graphic tee box. We sent all items to Liz so she could either review the basic or graphic tee box but our err was in not communicating this properly. Our apologies to Liz and Haley, the site is fantastic and they do a fabulous job!

  5. Hi Everyone,
So glad you loved our box this month!! Just a note about our pricing, we also own a brick and mortar gift store and our retails listed on our cards are what we are actually selling some of these items for in our store, so the values we put on our cards are valid. We first curate the boxes and then since we love these items so much we might actually add some to our store (which is called Marmalade).
For the ones of you that said you received something different that is due to us having 2 types of boxes…..teen (which was reviewed here) and tween.
Thanks to My Subscription Addiction for all the love…..we love your site and really appreciate you taking the time to review our products.
    XO – Team iBbeautiful

  6. My 11 year old daughter loved this box! Her box had a cute bear mirror/comb set instead of lip balm. The bracelet was a different style. She loved the box! I love how every box has a positive theme.

  7. This is so triggen cute, I would’ve loved this as a tween. Hell I think I’d love it now, haha

  8. My 12 year old loved this box. It was her first Ibbeautiful box. We ordered the version without the t-shirt. The NYC Line pouch and the bracelet were the biggest hits here.
