GoodMouth Subscription Box Review - September

GoodMouth is a dental care subscription box that sends you tooth brushes and floss which are recommended according to your personalized profile monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly (your choice). For every subscription purchased, GoodMouth donates 2 brushes, or the equivalent in dental care, to someone in need.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription: GoodMouth

The Cost: starts at $4.95 per shipment (your personal plan is very customizable to your own needs)

The Products: Replacement manual toothbrushes or electric toothbrush heads, and floss

Ships to: US

You can customize your plan according to many things, including number of people in your household. My plan is for two people (my husband and I), so we got 2 toothbrush kits. Every kit in this subscription comes in its own mesh bag at sign-up.

The two kits in the box were the Pink Chameleon with waxed floss, and the Blue Jaguar with waxed floss (“chameleon” and “jaguar” are the names of the toothbrush models, and we selected the colors we wanted them in).

This Pink Chameleon brush was selected for me because it’s a good fit for an average-sized, adult mouth and also for its soft bristles to help with my sensitive teeth.

(Note: all brushes come in an extra, plastic wrapper for sanitation! I unwrapped these brushes before taking photos.)

GoodMouth Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Brush

This Blue Jaguar brush was selected for my husband since it is good for average-sized, adult mouths and has a slightly larger brush head and bristles. I actually prefer this brush, too – the shape of the handle is really comfortable and is rubberized for good grip.

Verdict: My GoodMouth subscription cost $15.95 for two manual brushes ($8.95) and 2 packages of floss ($3.50 each, so $7 total). I really like the design of the Jaguar brush, but everything in this kit feels high-quality. Personally, I prefer to use electric brushes, but the one I use now isn’t one of the three models they provide replacement heads for (the Sonicare E-Series, Sonicare Pro Results, or the Oral-B Precision Clean).

I do want to point out that I like the online profile customization. I thought it was very thorough and asked about things I didn’t even think about (mouth sizes, sensitivity/periodontal disease, braces, etc).

Buying replacement tooth brushes or brush heads is, admittedly, something I don’t really think about much even though I know I should. I think a subscription box is a great idea for me to make sure I keep up my toothbrush hygiene without having to think about it.

What do you think about the GoodMouth subscription? How often do you replace your brushes currently?

I don’t think they give the mesh bags anymore. I just got my first one and was hoping they still did that, but none of my brushes came in a mesh bag. I am assuming that might have been a thing they did when they started but have since discontinued.

Hi there Cristina, this is Dana from GoodMouth. We don’t sell the electric brush units at the moment but we do send replacement brush heads for Oral-B and Sonicare electric brushes. If you are an electric toothbrush user already, this is a great way to keep on schedule for changing your brush heads at the right time. If you have any questions about our electric heads or any of our other products, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you.

in their subscription boxes, for electric toothbrushes they seem to only send the replaceable heads but never the brush. do you know if that’s true, that you have to go buy a toothbrush somewhere else before you subscribe?
