Here’s the finished bangle and in-progress earrings (I couldn’t attach the hooks to the earrings because I still don’t have a pair of jewelry pliers – I’ll be sure to pick some up before the next For the Makers box!). I don’t think I’ll wear the bangle, but once I get the right tools, I think the earrings will be a pretty cool style.

For the Makers DIY Subscription Box Review – Sept 2014 Tattoo

Well, here are my attempts at the After Party Tattoos. I know that Flash Tattoos have been a huge trend lately, so I was really excited to try a DIY-version using silver leaf! Unfortunately, it didn’t quite turn out at all like the photos in the tutorial, and the silver leaf was kind of difficult to work with. Mine ended up being crinkly or have missing places where the leaf didn’t stick, etc. It’s probably something that gets easier with practice, though!

(In my current, itty-bitty apartment, I couldn’t complete the dyed pillowcase project; I have absolutely zero place to set it up/let it hang to dry. I love the style, though, so I’m definitely holding onto this project to do someday!)

Verdict:  This wasn’t my favorite For the Makers box, but I liked the concepts of all the projects! I also like that the bracelet (and even the pillow case) could make really cool gifts, too.

What did you think of the September For the Makers box? If you subscribe, did you have any better luck with the After Party Tattoo?
