Treatsie Subscription Box Review – August 2014 Card

Every month, Treatsie includes a card detailing the products included in that month’s box. They also recently changed the look of their cards to show the breakdown of the value of the box.

Treatsie Subscription Box Review – August 2014 Chuao

Chuao Mini Bar in Sweet & Salty, Potato Chip, Salted Chocolate Crunch, and Popcorn Pop - .39 oz each, value: $4 total

Chuao is one of my all-time favorite brands of chocolate, so I was definitely thrilled to see that they were heavily featured in this box. These mini bars are the perfect size to try out some of their more untraditional (but somehow always delicious) flavors.

Treatsie Subscription Box Review – August 2014 Toffee

Lambrecht Gourmet Southern Pecan Toffee – 3 oz, value: $7.12

Chuao Ravishing Rocky Road Chocolate Bar – 2.8 oz (Full Size!), value: $6

Kika’s Treats Coconut Shortbread in Dark Chocolate – 4.5 oz (Full Size!), value: 9

I am so happy that the full-size Chuao bar in the box was one of the best flavors I’ve tried! Ravishing Rocky Road has actual marshmallows and salted, caramelized almonds in it. You know this bar was gone as soon as the photos were done!

Toffee is another one of my favorite treats, so that was a win as well. Unfortunately, I just don’t like coconut, so this shortbread will be passed along to my family.

Verdict: All in all, I was thrilled with this month’s Treatsie box! The value is just under $30 so I’m definitely happy with that, and I loved the featured treats. After a couple months straight of caramel-heavy boxes, I was really happy to have lots of chocolate and more variation again.

What do you think of this month’s Treatsie box? Have you tried any of these Chuao chocolate flavors before?

I had to cancel my subscription last week. It was purchased mid September and they deducted from my credit card on the Sept. 19th and October 20th my box is still showing process. I cancelled it last week and today I see a deduction for my October box on my credit card. I check my account and it shows my subscription was cancelled but they extended the cancellation out to November. I am just frustrated that I have 2 boxes pending yet they received their funds. Waiting for a response from them. Never had this issue with Ipsy, Birchbox, Kiwi Crate, or Bulu.

I received my box on 8/20 and despite their best efforts with the huge packaging with insulation/ice packs, all the chocolate items were completely melted, like liquid form melted. Understandably chocolate and Florida shouldn’t mix In the summer, but they have a no melt policy! I emailed them and they responded promptly. They did ask for photo proof in their response. Since that was the next day, I informed them I had put the items in the fridge to see if I could save them. I sent them a photo of the next day bar which was solid again but clearly misshapen. They accepted that an sent me a whole new box! The process took about a week but they overnighted me my box and I recieved it on 8/29. It arrived with the ice pack semi frozen and cool. No melted chocolate items.

As for the items in the box, I loved them! I am familiar with chuao and their chocolate is great. I had never had the full size rocky road flavor and it’s awesome. I love that they included all the flavor samples as well. The ones with pop rocks in them (popcorn pop and firecracker) are so neat! My second box had a few extra samples. I recieved the chocolate caramel graham crackers and they are ok. The brittle is excellent. Treatsie is a great box overall and I am very happy with their customer service! Highly recommend if you like unique candy/sweets.

My box was super late (just got it today) but they sent me two extra small bars (spicy maya and orange chocolate) to make up for that fact. Plus, instead of the coconut shortbread cookies, I got Carmelized graham crackers in dark chocolate which I’m thrilled about since I hate coconut. Very happy!

The shortbread cookies really didn’t taste like coconut to me, but I guess with coconut in the name I may have been expecting more coconut flavor. I was also impressed with the full size chuao bar, the ravishing rocky road was so amazing! the salty almonds made this bar so great! all in all a really great box!

I thought I’d hate the shortbread because I don’t like coconut. They were fantastic!
