Rilakkuma Wonderland Series 10th Anniversary toy - $5?
One Piece – value: $15? (popular manga/anime)
I’m no expert on these kinds of toys, and I couldn’t find any of the box’s items online, so I’m guessing at the values a little, based off of similar products and help from some people I know who are very into anime and Japanese pop culture.
The first figurine is from a series called Rilakkuma Wonderland which, from my research, seems to be a similar line like Hello Kitty is here in the US – adorable animals that come as any kind of paraphernalia you could imagine! The second figurine is from a popular anime and manga series called One Piece, and the figurine came in separate pieces to be assembled.
Here’s a close up of these toys:
Baby Stitch Finger Puppet – value: $5?
Caramel Corn – value: $1.50?
Madoka Magica – value: $15-17?
I think it’s a great idea to include Japanese snacks and candies in this kind of a box! You can kind of see what the caramel corn looks like on the bottom left of the packaging. These are like a caramel-flavored version of cheese puffs. The Madoka Magica figurine (far right) is from a Japanese television series, which also came in separate parts to be assembled. Here’s a close up of the two toys:
The Verdict: From my knowledge, the value of this Betoyo Bento box seems pretty good – it cost $36 and my estimation is that the whole box is valued at about $42. I also know that there aren’t many of this kind of subscription, so I’m sure the people who are big fans of Japanese toys and pop culture would appreciate the fun of subscription boxes being brought to this market! Also, on Betoyo Bento’s FAQ page, they make sure to inform subscribers that they have a team of experienced buyers and guarantee they’re not distributing any bootleg products.
