Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review – May 2014

Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review - May

Wantable is a monthly subscription service that has 3 different plans: Makeup, Accessories, and Intimates. It’s one of the pricier subscriptions ($36 a month), but everything they send is full size, and they fully customize the boxes based on your preferences. I subscribe to all three, and this review is of the makeup box.

Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Info

You get to take a very detailed survey of what items you love, like and dislike. You won’t receive anything in your dislike list. Just recently they updated their makeup quiz to give you more preference options. (I still need to go update my profile since you can now get even more specific!)

Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Eye shadow

Eddie Funkhouser Hyperreal Eye Color Palette in Girls on Film – Value $15

MiA BelleZZA Luxury Trio Eyeshadow in Mauvy – Value $24.50

Most of my eye shadow palettes are pretty neutral, so I’m excited to try out these new colors. And the Mia BelleZZa eye shadow can also be blended as a blush!

Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Nail Wrap

NCLA Nail Wraps in Leather and Lace – Value $18

Chella Heated Eyelash Curler – Value $22

At first when I read “heated” eyelash curler I was a little scared to put anything heated next to my eyes! But this isn’t like a typical eyelash curler where you have to clamp down on your eyelashes – you just use this to press them up. And you do it after you put on your mascara! It’s the first heated eyelash curler I tried (and I’m a fan), and judging from Amazon reviews it’s the best heated curler on the market! This is something I never would have bought on my own, but I’m very glad Wantable put it in my hands to try!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $80 – I’m happy with the value and I think it’s on the lower end for Wantable makeup boxes! The only thing I probably won’t use are the nail wraps. (I still have a few unopened ncLA nail wraps from other boxes!). I’ll need to specify no nail wraps on my profile!

What did you get in your Wantable Makeup Box this month?

  1. I like the Wantable subscription box company so much! They tailor the box so much to each client’s tastes. They never send you products that you don’t care for. When I e-mail Wantable’s Customer Service, the representatives reply quickly and they are polite. I do think they are expensive, $36 per month, but it is well worth it. Returns is the only aspect that disappoints me. One month I wished to return a lip liner and a face illuminator that did not complement my coloring. The woman said that I had to return 3 of the 4 items to receive a refund. The amount returned had to exceed the price the company paid for the products. The company pays for the products in bundles.

  2. I had subscribed to Wantable for about three months total. I think it is great and I was fairly happy with everything I had received. Their customer service is AMAZING! I would definitely recommend this subscription; I just didn’t have the money for it currently.

  3. I subscribe to all three Wantable boxes. I adore Wantable but figured out that I needed to make sure I didn’t change too many things on my survey at once. I wanted to mix up what came in my makeup box and ended up with neon blue/green mascara, olive eyeliner, and a white-pink lip balm, none of which was for me. It did match what I had changed on my survey perfectly. They have awesome customer service and it’s great that you get to customize what they send.

  4. I subscribe to the intimates box and absolutely love it I keep debating whether to get the makeup one bc it is so pricey but your box totally makes Me want to get it!

    • I’ve been debating the intimates box but I had to promise myself no new subscriptions — I just re-signed up for Birchbox and Vegan Cuts (snacks) and added a tea club and Cate & Chloe. Plus all the other boxes I already get. I have a problem! (But if I cancel something, I’m seriously thinking about the intimates subscription as a replacement.)

  5. I am jealous of the Mia Bellezza eyeshadow, I have been wanting that for a few months now. But I took eyeshadow off my list month because I didn’t want Eddie Funkhouser due to allergy issues. I only had highlighter, lipstick and nail polish on my list. I was really happy with my box this month!
