High Shine Club Nail Polish Subscription Box Review Polish

Lucy in the Sky by Butter London – value: $15

Top Coat Plus from Nicole by OPI – value: $7.99

This Butter London polish is gold and silver glitter in a rosy base polish, and I think it’s perfect for summer! I think more bold, straight-up gold or metallic looks have typically been associated with winter and the holidays, but this polish comes across more as iridescent so I definitely think it could work for summer. I’m also already a huge fan of the Butter London brand because they’re 3-free (free of formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP color).

The Nicole by OPI Top Coat is one I’ve bought before a loved. I was actually in desperate need of a new topcoat so this came just time time!

(The little feathers were included in the box as part of the package, so I thought I’d throw those into the photo!)

High Shine Club Nail Polish Subscription Box Review La Fresh

Cheeky Premium Crystal Glass Nail File – value: $2.50

La Fresh Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover Pads – 2 pads, value: $1

I prefer glass/crystal nail files like this over any kind of cardboard or metal kind, and I love that it includes a sleeve for it so I can keep it in my purse. I can never have too many nail files around.

Verdict: This box had a value of about $26, and the best part is that I know I will use every item in it. I also really love that High Shine Club has a subscription option that includes gel polishes! That’s something different to me from other polish subscriptions, and I’m sure many people who love gel manicures would appreciate that, too!

Have you tried any of the brands in this month’s High Shine Club box? What was your favorite product?

Hey Liz- Is it possible those feathers were sent to be used in a manicure with the clear top coat? They were popular a year or so ago. Ciate has a kit with basically the same feathers: http://www.asos.com/Ciat/Ciate-ASOS-Exclusive-Feather-Manicure—All-A-Flutter/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3409523&r=2

Also, The Nailasaurus has a great tutorial if you want to try it! http://www.thenailasaurus.com/2012/11/real-feather-nail-art-tutorial.html

I thought about this for awhile and then went ahead and signed up for it. One polish a month from a known brand sounded good to me (I got the $15 pricing tier so Essie, OPI, Zoya, etc. — all of which I like). I also don’t have any tools at all except some cheap files and an old pair of nail clippers, and I wouldn’t even know what to buy if I went looking for it, so that part of the subscription works for me, too. (If I get something I don’t know how to use, I can always Google it and I might find that I really like it!)

I took the short quiz on their website and later got an e-mail that said I’d been placed in the “trendy conservative” group. I was a little surprised by that so I e-mailed them. (I was concerned I’d get a bunch of pastels and neutrals, both of which I hate.) They got back to me quickly and were super nice. They said they’d either (1) put a note next to my name in the computer not to send pastels and neutrals or (2) switch me over to the “fashion forward” shades. I elected to switch to the “fashion forward” shades.

At any rate, I was pleased with the prompt response and their willingness to work with me. I don’t expect to get my first box until June so I can’t comment on that. I’m always a little nervous signing up for subscriptions with new companies but so far, so good.

I’m obsessed with my membership to high shine. I don’t even have to think about what I’m bringing to the salon for my pedi! It’s so easy…no stops at the store. It’s great for my kids when they open the cheaper teen option! And I’m obsessed with the tips they send for the members!

I love HSC!!!! I tried CMM for a minute but this got me the brands I want to bring to the salon each week! I don’t have to strip at ulta and I don’t have to think about what’s trending! Plus if I don’t like the shade I give it to my cousin and keep the accessories! She’s 12 and loves it. My last email from them said they’d be doing a teen version so that solves the cost issue for my daughter who’s 16 and wants it too!

This box really looks nice! I like that they carry well known brands and not in-house brands. I’m already committed to a polish box but maybe someone else here goes for a try. 🙂

Every time I see a nailpolish subscription, I’m tempted. Even though I know I would be up to my ears in polish in a couple of months (I already am, and I don’t even subscribe to any nailpolish-specific boxes).

I went to their website and think I would do the $15 subscription in “fashion forward” if I were to sign up. A promo code would strongly influence my decision! I like the options a lot. Should be something for everyone. And one polish a month wouldn’t lead to a crazy stash buildup.

I think those La Fresh pads are OK but I need at least two of them to get all the polish off my (short) nails. (I can see the benefit if you travel a lot, though.)

If you don’t get color me monthly, I highly recommend them! I signed up when they were doing the $1 for your first month, and I’ve stuck around. They are one of my must have boxes, and its nice because its only $7 LOL

Do you take a quiz or do they (CMM) send everyone the same color? I don’t really like pastels, for example. Although sub boxes keep sending them to me.

I love CMM too! Just bought an annual plan with them for their Memorial Day sale (hello $5.31\box!!)

I felt way too overwhelmed with Julep, plus Julep’s bottles are half sized. This way I’m not swimming in polish and get full sized bottles!
