This month, the city we get to sample is Brooklyn!

Each Hazel Lane box comes with a card detailing each product inside the month’s box. How cute is it that they make them look like boarding passes?

Hazel Lane Subscription Box Review - April 2014 Tea Towel

BAGGU Small 3D ZIP in Cat – Value: $8

Claudia Pearson Tea Towel - $16

I love all things BAGGU – their products are all simple and high-quality. Personally, I find this cat pattern adorable and I had no idea BAGGU was from Brooklyn!

Tea towels must be some kind of trend this year because I’ve received them in a couple other boxes recently, as well. I’m glad that I like this pattern a lot, and I’m happy to see an Etsy shop/small business featured in the box, as well.

Here’s a photo of the towel, unfolded:

Hazel Lane Subscription Box Review - April 2014 Tattly

Miss Marisa Fragrance Oil – 1/8 oz, value: $18.95

SW Basics Makeup Remover – 1 oz, value: $7

Tattly Friendship Bracelet Temporary Tattoo – value: $2.50

I absolutely love this perfume. The card describes the scent as “scents of plum blossoms, morocco mint, and water lilies.” It’s definitely a scent I’ve never smelled before, and perfect for summer. I’ve actually worn this just about every day since I got this box, and you don’t have to apply much for it to be detectable all day. Additionally, the size of the bottle plus the rollerball applicator makes it perfect to keep in your purse.

This makeup remover from SW basics is organic and made from only sweet almond oil, olive oil, and jojoba oil. I’ve been a fan of this brand for a long time!

The verdict: I was thrilled with this Hazel Lane box. I like everything in it, and I love Hazel Lane’s vision and execution! I definitely look forward to more boxes from them. As far as value goes, I estimated this box to be a little under $55 worth of product for a $39.99 box. Definitely a win for me!

Which item would you like best from the Brooklyn Hazel Lane box? How many of these brands are new to you?

Hey there. I am thinking about buying the Miss Marissa scent. Do you think it was great enough to purchase? They also have a sampler set!

Looks like you can order just the Brooklyn box from their website. It might be the Deluxe City Explorer version. It’s more expensive and looks like there’s a few more items.

Tea towel is super cute!

Wow, this box hits everything for me! I think I’ll add this sub since I just cancelled Escape Monthly. This looks a million times better and I love that there wasn’t a huge emphasis on food. Might have to try a mini box for myself and a kids box for my toddler.

Hi Crystal,

Thanks so much for the compliment! We hand select full size products which represent our featured city that we would LOVE to receive ourselves! We have made a few changes recently and added our Kids “Little Explorer” boxes to the “Buy Last Months Box” page. This way you can order your little one a box from our past cities and actually see what will be in that box! It won’t be a surprise for you but WILL be a surprise for them! Thanks again for the kind words and we look forward to EXPLORING with you in the future!

With Love,
Ash and Sam

The box looks really nice. I’d like to see a couple months worth before subscribing.
I do have to add….enough with the temporary tattoos already. The only thing worse is nail wraps.

Haha – I hear you about the nail wraps! (I just got more of them in my May Lip Factory box!)

Sneaky Burrito

Actually got my first set in the Lip Factory box. Will probably at least give them a try, but not thrilled about them.

Better than fake eyelashes, I guess. I just sent a bunch of those off to a girl I met through Ipsy who is collecting them for cancer patients.

Uh oh – I may have another box to add to my wishlist. While the scent and makeup remover look good to me, I really love the idea of a kid’s box. What a neat way to get them interested in other cities and geography! Similar to Little Passports I think, but with more stuff they could use. I’m really curious which products come in the kids’ box!

Hi Alyssa,

Our kids boxes most certainly include items that they can use and last for years! Thank you so much for the kind post and we hope you check out our “Little Explorer” boxes on our “Buy Last Months Box” page. You will be able to purchase our past children’s boxes and even add on individual items to customize your box.

Bon Voyage!
