Escape Monthly Subscription Box Review & Coupon – May 2014
Escape Monthly is a monthly vacation-in-a-box subscription. Each box comes with food, beauty items, and other souvenirs from a new destination. You also get a tourist book – so this box might help you plan your next actual vacation too!
This month’s destination – California!
The Subscription Box: Escape Monthly
The Cost: $49.95 a month ($39.95 a month with coupon)
COUPON: Use coupon code YOURESCAPE to save $10 off every month for the life of your subscription.
The Products: Each box is a destination-inspired monthly delivery of luxury products to help you relax, renew and escape.
Ships to: US only
Bonus Points: Each month, one lucky member will be selected at random to win a vacation to the current month’s theme destination. Escape Monthly will pay for the winner’s airfare from a major US hub and two nights of accommodations, up to $1000. (They announce the winners publicly on Facebook).
Each box comes with a fold out card detailing each item included in your box.
Juice Beauty Green Apple Age Defy Hand Creme – Value $12
I’ve received both of these items before from subscription boxes and I love them! (I pretty much love anything Juice Beauty!)
California Poppies Kit – Value $7
Premium Sea Sponge – Value $8
According to the guide in this poppy kit, I need to plant these seeds in early Spring – I guess I’ll wait til next year! (Assuming seeds can wait a year? I’m very, very new to gardening).
Caliwater Cactus Water – Value $3.50
IPS Egg White Chips – Value $2
Apparently Cactus Water has been shown to help prevent hangovers – I will try this out before the next time I have some wine!
Nicobella Organics 2 Piece Truffles – Value $4
San Franola Granola – Value $2
These chocolates were vegan and delicious! Just one bite satisfied my chocolate craving! (But I’m still glad they didn’t include a larger box of truffles!)
California Wine Country Guide – Valeu $18
Normally I don’t get too excited for the guide books, but when we lived in San Francisco for a year we toured a few wineries, so it was fun to look them up! (My favorite was Castello di Amorosa – mostly just because it is a castle!)
Verdict: I paid $40 for this box and received about $60 worth of items. This box had the same value as last month’s escape, but I liked the items more this month, so I’m much happier with the May box compared to April. I still wish this box had a slightly higher value though given how pricey it is.
What did you think of the California Escape Monthly box? And what do you think of the June destination – Las Vegas?
