Happy Dog Box Review & 50% Off Coupon - April 2014 Box

Happy Dog Box is a monthly subscription box for dogs. We’ve been subscribing for a few months now and we’re happy with the quality and the value of the box – the treats have been healthy and made in the USA, and our dog has loved it too!

This box is customized to your dog’s size, so for reference this review is of the small dog box. (Our dog Buckles is a 15 pound Cairn Terrier Poodle Mix).

Happy Dog Box Review & 50% Off Coupon - April 2014 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing all of the items included.

Happy Dog Box Review & 50% Off Coupon - April 2014 Monkey

Barkworthies Lamb Leg Bone – Value $3.15

Sock Monkey Dog Toy – Value $8

Our dog is absolutely obsessed with anything from Barkworthies, so I know he’ll love this bone. (I’m just waiting for a time when I can watch him the entire time he’s chewing the bone – I get a little nervous with real bones!)

Happy Dog Box Review & 50% Off Coupon - April 2014 Sweet Potato

Plato Pets Turkey with Sweet Potato Treats – Value $8.90

Pet Kelp Chicken Jerky with Kelp and Bluberries – Value $9

Both of these treats are made in the USA with wholesome and natural ingredients. And fortunately for us the meat is one of the main ingredients so our dog actually likes them too!

Happy Dog Box Review & 50% Off Coupon - April 2014 Treats

Pet N Shape All Natural Beef Lung Dog Treats – Value $8

I’ve never seen beef lung dog treats before, so I was a little grossed out, but our pup loves em, and they are made in the USA too so I’ll just get over it!

Verdict: We paid $25 for this box and received about $37 worth of dog treats and toys. In general I’d say that Happy Dog Box sends more treats than toys, but that is perfect for us! What did you think of Happy Dog Box this month?

  1. I’m not too happy with them right now. I signed up to try them because of the 50% off. Received my tracking number on 3/24, and still have not received the box (the number just shows initiated)… I e-mailed and was told they would check into it with their warehouse/shipping people. Its been two days, and I sent a follow up e-mail and still no response. :/

  2. Yea my card don’t match the items. Would have preferred several of the listed items to these items. Got ones you show. Wasn’t too impressed with this box. Just ordered bark box and biglickbarkery…..im in love with big lick Barkery 🙂

    • Though I have been happy with all other boxes from these guys

  3. When I opened my box for my 100lb Lab, I got the same items! with a card for other items! I wrote them and they emailed me the right card……for a small dog like yours. I had even reminded them I had a large pup.
Not too happy with my Happy Dog box this month. Loved the other ones I received. Thought it was a better box, especially with the Made in USA treats. (except for the lungs – just too gross).

    • Good to know. I have a 90-lb Rottie and she would swallow the sock monkey whole.

  4. Are you sure this isn’t the March box? I know I got my March box a week or so ago and these are all of the treats that were in it. I had contacted the company about shipping and they said that they ship the first box quickly after you order it but that they normally ship their boxes near the end of the month. It’s semantics, but I think this is the March 2014 box.

    • You definitely could be right, it shows up at the end of the month, and last month’s was St. Patricks day themed, so I assumed the previous box was the March box!

  5. I’m a vegetarian so I get grossed out by pretty much all pet food and treats (don’t worry, I am not imposing my dietary requirements on my pets). I was feeding my cats dehydrated duck liver as a treat for awhile (ick, little bits of powder got everywhere).

Well, someday perhaps I will have a dog who does not have a sensitive stomach and I can try a box like this. Natural/USA-made dog treats are expensive so this does seem to be a pretty good value.
