Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - March 2014 First Look

Nerd Block is a monthly subscription box for geeks and gamers. This box typically includes at least a figurine or two, and always a new exclusive shirt. They usually include at least one or two blind box items each month, so boxes vary by subscriber.

Also – this month Nerd Block launched Nerd Block Junior boxes for girls and boys – I have reviews for each box coming soon!

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Creed

Assassin’s Creed Edward Kenway Figure – Value $15

Judging by Instagram, there were a few different variations of this item. My husband was happy to get Edward Kenway though!

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Shirt

Join Me T-Shirt – Value $20

I’m estimating the value of this shirt since it is made exclusively for the box. (Each Nerd Block box comes with a shirt!)

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Simpsons

The Simpsons 25 Greatest Guest Stars Collectible Miniature Figure – Value $7

This Simpsons figure was a hit – I think we’ll be trying to swap for more variations!

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Wacky

Star Trek Skele Treks – Value $2.40

Topps Wacky Packages Stickers – Value $2

Neither of these items were a hit for us, so they’l probably end up getting swapped!

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Zelda

Zelda Figure – Value $9.99

Verdict: We paid $29.50 for this box (that includes US shipping) and we received about $55 worth of items. My husband liked pretty much all of the big ticket items this month, so the March Nerd Block is a win for us! What did you think of the box this month?

  1. Nice! I missed out on the March box but my April one if ordered and I can’t wait!

The Nerd Block page on Facebook just confirmed that there will be a classic transformers style item included in April’s block. Very cool!

I love the mini Borg figure the most from your pictures.

  2. I bought my bf Loot Crate for Valentine’s Day, and although he likes getting it, both month so far have been heavily themed with games/shows that he was unfamiliar with. Does your husband prefer Nerd Block over Loot Crate? Even though it’s more expensive, I might have to switch.

    • I’m actually thinking the same thing. I got my Lootcrate box last night and was underwhelmed by the TitanFall stuff. This one seems more up my alley but unfortunately twice the price. But, may be worth the switch.

    • My husband’s favorite box varies month to month depending on what items are included 🙂 , but in general he likes figurines for his desk, so Nerd Block is a better fit there since they seem to always include a few each month. Hope that helps!

  3. Sorry to burst your value bubble but these shirts are worth $10. See, Nerd Block is put out by the same company as shirtpunch.com; which sells a new tee every 24 hours designed by artists from around the world. They just choose a submission they like for the blocks instead of going to the site at large.

    • Considering the shipping rates get included in the prices here, ShirtPunch shirts actually cost over $20 once you add shipping costs (about $25 US for me specifically, I’m in eastern Canada)

I am very happy with this block. Although I’m not generally interested in Star Trek, or Assassin’s Creed, I still enjoyed those items very much. I received the Skyward Sword Link in my blind ball, that was definitely my favorite item (I’m a huge Zelda fan)

  4. We ordered the Nerd Block Jr. box for girls this month- my daughter loved everything!
