Blush Mystery Beauty Box Subscription Review - March 2014 Card

Blush Mystery Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box from Blush.com. I’ve been very impressed with this subscription in general because of the value (usually over $100), the brands (typically at least a few high-end  lines), and the size of the items (everything is usually full sized or deluxe sized). FYI – Lately their boxes have had more skincare products than makeup products.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Subscription Review - March 2014 Card

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included for that month.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Subscription Review - March 2014 Eye Patches

Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel – .25 oz Value $18.50

Talika Eye Therapy Patches – Value $10

This gel is supposed to boost hydration levels in your skin – I’m definitely intrigued! It gets great reviews, and apparently a little goes a long way, so I’ll be adding this to my daily routine!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Subscription Review - March 2014 Spackle

Laura Geller Under Make-Up Primer – .5 oz Value $7.50

Miracle Skin Transformer Hydroactive Microderm – .5 oz Value $10

I’m a big fan of the Miracle Skin Transformer line – it is somewhat magic when it comes to making pores look invisible! This is the only product from their line I haven’t sampled yet, so I’m very happy this exfoliator was in the box this month!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Subscription Review - March 2014 Strivectin

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid – 1 oz Value $6

StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks and Wrinkles – .75 oz Value $20

This Paula’s Choice liquid is a leave-on exfoliant that gets excellent reviews on Birchbox for clearing up skin. Apparently it can leave the skin a little sticky though, so it is recommended to use it only at night.

(Also, a few readers have let me know that some subscribers received this Stri-Vectin sample in .5 oz and others in .75 oz. I’m not sure why Blush would send out different size versions of the exact product, and I have no idea how I lucked out with the larger size. I’m assuming it’s random as I pay for this subscription – this isn’t a blogger box. It’s definitely frustrating though that they aren’t sending their subscribers the same value items).

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Subscription Review - March 2014 Suki

Suki 100% Organic Cotton Washcloth – Value $10.95

DCL Ultra Light Hydrator – FULL SIZE! Value $27.60

Verdict: This box has a value of about $110. I’m happy with the value, and there are a lot of skincare products I’m excited to try after reading some glowing reviews about them. Hopefully I find some new favorites with this box!

  1. A little insider tip that I’ve noticed from being an avid Dermstore shopper … (Dermstore, Blush.com & Hair Envy are all one) the items from the prior month blush box often are what is in the Glam Bag (mystery grab bag) they sell for $20. Once I even got the same items when I purchased their Pure Bliss grab bag for $10 from their ‘Spend More, Save More’ section!

And yes, you can usually buy the current months Blush box well into the month, so if you like what you see in a blog head on over.

  2. I cancelled Blush last year because I was so unhappy with what I was receiving, really maybe one thing in a box I liked. I think this is a great box and would have loved it. I had started my subscription after seeing the box that had the Butter nail polish and the Mirabelle blush. I thought that was a great box too.

  3. I cancelled Glossy to give Blush a try. I wasn’t expecting to get March’s box and was disappointed as I saw your post and wanted to wait to get next months. I was happy with the full size moisturizer as I need a moisturizer. I am not a fan of Paula’s choice products and see she is popping up in other boxes. I’ve been wanting to try STrvichen, I have used the Skin Ceuticals as I worked in a spa that sold it, always can use a makeup primer – but all in all way too much skin care in one box. I like to have a little color as well. I can’t afford more than one makeup box at a time so I will give Blush a try for a few more months since you all are giving it such great reviews on here. I haven’t been super thrilled with my last three Glossy Boxes and have given away more than I used.

  4. I just signed up and was able to purchase the March box along with starting up the subscription. I’ve already had huge wins from the Strivestin and Miracleskin brands, and everything else looks like it could be great too. I actually prefer the skincare heavy box. But a tube of lipstick is always nice!

  5. That’s interesting on the Strivectin — I actually got TWO tubes of the .5 ounce. I wonder if they realized at some point that the sizes were different and tried to compensate? I don’t know, but Blush and ipsy are my two favorite subscription services. I was happy with the March box, but I’d like to see more makeup items in the future!

  6. Usually I am annoyed when a box contains so many skincare samples but this month I was extremely happy because I have itching to get a facial at a local salon using Eminence but I’m planning on going on vacation so this satisfied my “craving” for a change with my skincare. I received the exact same box as shown, I too received the .75 sample. I’ve been using the Paula’s Choice and the DCL Hydrator nightly with already some great results..my skin looks radiant and even toned.

  7. I received the .5 oz of Strivectin, I didn’t know others got a larger size. That’s a bummer for me because I know how much that stuff costs! Curious if that card shows the .75 oz or the .5 oz? I don’t have the card in front of me right now but I’ll check when I get home.

I got my blush box a week ago and have been using the Strivectin on my strechmarks and have already noticed a difference, not a huge difference yet but noticeable to me. I already went and purchased Strivectin. I wish I got the .75 oz because that .25 ounces difference is a $10 value! (2 oz tube costs $80). Oh well, hopefully I will get lucky next time. I still LOVE the Blush Mystery Beauty Box, definitely my fav!

  8. Loving the Strivectin (I received .75 as well)!! I’ve only been using it for five days, but my skin looks tighter and the one small wrinkle on my forehead is starting to fade. I’ve also noticed that fine lines under my eyes are less noticeable. The sample will be enough to last me a few weeks, but I get the feeling I will be repurchasing this. I also tried the B5 gel and thought it was nice. Blush always has a few “new to me” products that I end up loving. Last month, it was the Klorane dry shampoo. I also use the L’edge exfoliator all the time. I always get at least $100 worth of products that I use and enjoy.

  9. I always LOVE my blush boxes, and this one is no exception! Even though the value was definitely there with this box, I was still a little sad to see so many sample size products. I think I’ve just been spoiled by Blush in the past, though. 🙂

  10. Even though I’m usually partial to receiving makeup products in this sub (like the Mirabella blush), I loved the skincare theme this month. Oh and I received the StiVectin in .75 fl oz as well so I’m not sure what’s up with the varying sizes.

  11. You will love the Strivectin firming cream! It’s one of my two go to skin care products (along with Clarins total double serum). Speaking as someone who does facial injectables like Dysport, it is the closest thing to Botox without a needle. And it smells like mint, which is a bit weird but nice.

  12. Blush is hands down one of my favorite mystery boxes. This box was the only one I have ever recieved and been a little let down. I love the wash cloth and will try most everything but the full size lotion is not suitable for my skin type (I have dry skin and recieved the oil free) I will pass that along to someone else. I think the value is always great with these boxes and will continue to be excited for each new one!

  13. What a great box! Is the March 2014 box still available for purchase? I’ve been wanting to try out this subscription box for a while now, but I think this box just won me over.

    • Yep I think it is still available!
