Coco Rocha Fancy Box Review – November 2013

Coco Rocha Fancy Box Review - November 2013

I recently decided to consolidate my Fancy accounts. (I had two, because when the Coco Rocha Fancy Box first launched you had to connect with Google+ to buy it. I couldn’t add Google+ to my existing account for some reason, so I created a new Fancy account just so I could get Coco’s box!)

Anyway, you no longer have to connect with Google+, so to make things simpler I cancelled Coco Rocha subscription on my second account and started it in on my main account. That resulted in me missing the October box, but I was happy to see the November box show up today!

(If you aren’t familiar with the Coco Rocha Fancy Box, it’s one of the many celebrity curated Fancy subscription boxes).

Each box comes with cards for every item, and on the back is a sentence or two from Coco on why she picked the item!

PaddyWax Jar Candle – Value $19

I love the jar packaging of this candle, and the scent is great too!

Diamond Box – Value $15

Coco Rocha Fancy Box Review - November 2013

I’ve never really had a need for trinket boxes, but this one is pretty cute, and I like that it has magnets to keep it closed. (I threw my rings in it to show scale!)

Jin Soon Nail Polish in Metaphor – Value $18

I became much more interested in this nail polish once I read the note from Coco:

Jin Soon is like the Leonardo Di Vinci of nail art. Seriously, nearly every major high fashion shoot I’ve ever been on has featured her handy work. She now has her own line of top-notch nail lacquer  which I helped name!

The Sartorialist Book – Value $30

Richer Poorer Socks – Value $12

Normally I don’t get too excited about socks, but for some reason I just love the color and print of these socks! This book is just hundreds of pictures of street style fashion. I don’t think I’ll appreciate it as much as some of my friends will, so I’ll be gifting it!

Verdict: I paid $39 plus shipping for this box and received $94 worth of items (retail value). Even subtracting the cost of the book I won’t use, I still come ahead, so I’m happy with this box!

What did you think of the November Coco Rocha Fancy Box?

  1. The Sartorialist is a major street style blog, maybe THE major street style photographer out there (aside from Bill Cunningham, of course). So it might not be your thing, but it’s not “just a book of hundreds of street style photos.” 🙂

I really appreciate your reviews- just wanted to point that out. 🙂
This post actually made me kind of want to sub to the Coco Rocha box, haha.

  2. I just cancelled my Coco Rocha box, so this is the first month I haven’t had it. I finally had to fess up to myself that I am just not fashion-forward enough for this box ;). The past boxes have had some great stuff, but too many things went in the giveaway pile. I can’t say I would have loved this box, so I think it ended up being a good one to cancel. I’d rather save the funds to splurge on PopSugar Special Edition boxes, where I feel I get more bang for my buck and cooler stuff.

  3. I was particularly disappointed as this was my first box. It looked nothing like the past ones I’ve seen, that made me subscribe in the first place. I’m still surprised I paid $47 for so very little. As in I cancelled right after opening the items. I just can’t justify almost 50 bucks a month for socks, a candle, a book, a trinket box and a bottle of nail polish. That said I’m wearing the socks now and they are cute. Just not $50 cute. For that matter, I’ll still wear the socks I got in the hospital, lol!

  4. Decent box, but the candle made me sneeze and the book is not terribly interesting to me. The nail polish is great (one coat!) and the socks are good quality too. The box is adorable but I will need to find a way to use it at some point (too greedy to regift it haha).
