Bespoke Post August Box Options – Available Now!
I think I keep saying it in all my Bespoke Post reviews, but I am so impressed with the quality of the items in Bespoke Post subscription boxes! This month, they are introducing two new boxes: Aces and Hemingway. (They also have Stirred, Seared, and ‘Cue still available).
How it works: Bespoke Post will select a box for you each month. For me it was Aces. You can always switch to a different box, or skip the month. (Or if you are a little obsessed with Bespoke Post like I am, you can buy additional boxes).
Details on the new August Bespoke Post boxes:
Wooden Poker Box, Bespoke Post
If you don’t already have a regular gambling night, you’re going to want one now. Rather than rely on a bulky, metal, and, let’s face it, ugly poker case, we decided to build our own from scratch for a sharp and sophisticated step up that won’t look out of place in your wood-paneled, leather armchair-furnished man cave (you have one, right?). We also packed in everything you need – it all fits perfectly inside the case’s plush red felt interior, along with a soft felt-lined bottom and a classic metal enclosure.
Poker Chips, Bespoke Post
These aren’t the frail plastic chips you’re used to. We’ve stocked the poker box with 360 chips in four different colors, plus a dealer chip — plenty for your friendly home game (though what they’re worth is up to you). The 11.5 gram clay composite gives them a substantial feel and that familiar clink when you throw ‘em around, whether you’re betting on poker, blackjack, or go fish.
Cards, 2 decks, Various Casinos
You might have a drawer full of old playing cards, but how many of them came from the best casinos on the strip? These are straight from the Vegas floors, with the edges cut through to signify that they’re out of circulation (after they’ve helped people win and lose some serious money), and the casino-grade cardstock gives them a substantial feel and perfect weight.
Hemingway: (FYI – this box is backordered)
No. 8 Pocket Knife, 3.25″ Stainless Steel Blade with an Oak Handle, Opinel
This isn’t just a knife — it’s a damn legend. Manufactured since 1890 in the small town of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, this pocket knife has become a profound icon of French design and utility. Need proof? Pablo Picasso used it to carve his sculptures, and plenty of legendary explorers never left home without one. And aside from being a MoMA-endorsed design masterpiece, it’s got a resilient oak handle and stainless steel blade for just about any use you can think of.
Sport Fountain Pen with Pocket Clip & Cartridge Refills, Kaweco
No need to rely on cheap, unsophisticated ballpoints anymore; this Kaweco fountain pen has old-school appeal with keen modern design. And when we say “old-school appeal,” we mean it: Kaweco’s been in the business since 1883 and packs all that history into a sharp contemporary rendition. Kaweco’s slogan “Small in the pocket, great in the hand” rings true: pens are made of high-quality plastic and are compact when capped (4.1 inches), but plenty comfortable when posted (5.3 inches). Each pen features a screw-on cap for extra security and a 23 KT gold plated stainless steel, medium-sized nib with an iridium tip. Learn how to use it well and your handwriting will be smooth and full, unlike the near-illegible scratches you get with a disposable pen. We’ve even thrown in six ink cartridge refills and a gold pocket clip — perfect for stashing in a suit or bag pocket — for easy access (and added style).
Godwin Cold-Pressed Steel Bottle Opener, Machine Era Co.
“Write drunk; edit sober.” This’ll help get you on your way with a cold steel construction, made start to finish in the U.S. with strong and reliable materials to support American manufacturing. It’s weighty enough to be damn near indestructible but light enough for your every day carry. Not to mention the fact that’s it’s a work of art: the gun barrel black finish and totally unique engraved artwork give it a design edge that’ll outclass anything on your keyring. Whether you’re opening a beer for some profound inspiration or just to cool off in the summer heat, this is the bottle opener you should be using.
Soft Cover Notebook, 5″ x 8.25”, Black or Blue, Poppin
Whether you’re a design-obsessed writer or are just tired of covering your desk with Post-It Notes, a reliable and expertly minimal notebook is the perfect way to keep track of your brilliant ideas. It’s got 192 ruled pages for all of your notes, along with with an interior pocket for loose paper and an elastic closure to keep it all secure. So you can write down all of your notes for the Great American Novel – or just your grocery list while bored in your next meeting. Notebook color will vary.
