Sample Society Box Review - March 2013 - Monthly Makeup Sample Boxes

Sample Society shipped a little late this month – but this is one of my favorite boxes so far – definitely worth the wait!

The Cost: $15 a month (includes free year subscription to Allure magazine)

The Products: Deluxe and full sized beauty items.

Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich Shampoo – 1 oz Value $2.12

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Blagger – Value $15

I have been wanting to try Butter London nail polish for so long but could never justify buying it with all the nail polish I get through subscription boxes. I’m thrilled that there is a full sized Butter London nail polish in this box!

Murad Essential-C Day Moisture SPF 30 – 10 mL Value $11.65

Lashfood Nano-Peptide Natural Eyelash Conditioner – .02 oz Value $9.42

Hollywood Fashion Tape Sampler – 18 strips – Value $5

I’ve heard good things about Lashfood and I really like that it’s all natural (no parabens). They claim you will see visibly different, stunning lashes in 3-6 weeks. Here’s hoping this tube lasts me 3 weeks so I can find out if it works!

Verdict: This was the perfect mix of makeup, skincare and haircare items for me – also, no perfume sample as one of the items this time! What did you think of the March Sample Society box?

    1. This is my second Sample Society Box. I received a couple of different things. I got Oscar Blandi conditioner, which I am very excited to try because I loved the mousse in last month’s box. My box had silver butter nail polish and eyebrow conditioner, which I did not even know existed, but will give it a shot. The fashion tape seems a bit cheap, but overall I am loving this subscription.

    2. This was my first box, too, and I was disappointed. I got the same box that Ashley and Amanda got, eyebrow conditioner, silver polish, conditioner, Murad sample, and fashion tape. True, the Butter London at $14 retail essentially pays for the box, but I’d much rather have had the teal that others received. I’ll try the conditioner and moisturizer, and keep the tape in my purse for emergencies, but the brow goop is headed straight to the trash.

What’s funny is that Robyn over at Brightest Bulb in the Box just did a Beauty B.S. post yesterday about why lash/brow serums cannot possibly work. So I was amused/annoyed to find one in my SS box today.

    3. This was my first box from them and I wasn’t impressed. I got the same box Amanda did: Eyebrow conditioner, metallic silver nail polish, volumizing conditioner and the same murad sample and fashion tape. I may use the nail polish but I won’t use anything else. There was tiny black particles from the black paper they used to line the box that got everywhere. I spent a good deal of time cleaning that up.

    4. I just got the March box today and it is also my first one from Beauty Bar. I got the Diamond Geezer nail polish and love it.I got a perfume sample in mine but I like it. I also got the fashion tape but got a Stila smudge stick and anti-age cream instead. I’m happy with my box and can’t wait for next month.

    5. I had Ouidad conditioner instead of the shampoo and my Lashfood was for eyebrows . I really like this sub, and this month had some great stuff! My Butter color was a really pretty metallic – The Old Baily.

    6. I’m looking for a substitute for Birchbox and this may be it. I love the mix of skin and hair care!
